aaaah, I heard it! After Sailor Moon I had some interest in anime in general but haven't been able to watch. I'm not a fan but I like to recall those old anime which I was watching, especially... Fighting King Daimos. Oh, to this one I'd love to go back :)

I like yours too, Tony Stark in Sailor Moon style ;) I loved this anime when I was in school couple years ago. I was 10 or 11 maybe.

It's cause I haven't known this. And thanks for the title of drama, I'll find it. You can always include such infos to the database.

Possible, I know many girls, fans of Japan and even martial arts but they're not into samurai films. Males, of course, one was even pretty shocked when he was trying to recall a film and I told title, main actor, year of a release and director. I don't know how I remember all those details.

damn, even for two seconds, I'll watch it... really. I remember that he also starred in one film about Zatoichi earlier, with Katsu.

Yes, I'm a girl, a female. Would be kinda weird to have a nickname with "girl" and not being one... I think.

The longest sword fighting scene, I think still, is in the one of my favourites - "The Sword of Doom" directed by Okamoto Kihachi. Very last scenes with Tsukue (Nakadai, of course).
And yes, those bulls were hilarious. I enjoyed this realistic touch which Miike gave to this story. Some scenes were really disturbing too.

yes, this was really good but I think the success was 'cause of the script. I'm not sure, but there was not many changes from the 63' original. Unfortunately, I haven't seen first film, it's really hard to get.

I haven't seen it. I'm planning to watch finally all Zatoichis, films and dramas with Katsu Shintaro, and then we'll see if I take the latest installments of the series. But I don't think I'll do, really (only when I'll be desperate). After so many classics, new samurai films can't be good. I know exceptions are ones by Yamada Yoji or "Ame Agaru" (Kurosawa's script). Those I'll watch for sure.

This is the exact thing which I think. Most of the young actors are not able to play a samurai. When was some kind of action where Gackt was Nemuri Kyoshiro I was like... what the...? How it was possible? When I've seen his pictures as Nemuri I thought I'll rip out my eyes. I'm a die hard fan of chanbara so it was a real pain.

I really like this guy, he has something, not only looks and what I've seen from his interviews, he's not stupid (how it sounds smoothly). But well, he's really pretty so he has not time to train. Maybe one day you'll check "Taisetsu na Koto wa Subete Kimi ga Oshiete Kureta" - he had main role and I was pretty shocked that he really pulled out his role - very mature, not all the time the best but you can hope. I really wish him well 'cause more popular than him are guys with no potential at all. I still don't understand some hypes. I have only trust in older actors, when directors were looking for the "jewels" even outside studios (like Nakadai Tatsuya who's my ultimate favourite actor, not only Asian but in general). Industry changed and we must live with this. And what is said, it happens in most countries - pretty faces and nothing more.

I'm just optimistic. Lately I don't watch films with young actors anyway (or actresses), what you can see from my list. I think that they're taking some young people a bit too early, for example Miura Haruma, he has potential, but with a way too good look he was taken to act early (I think film "Naoko" shows that he has something to make him a good actor). There's no time to make the talent go out in the right moment. Of course, some are acting well from the beginning but some really need time. Unfortunately, Japanese industry is so quick and it matters young age 'cause he or she can be more productive. I hope this what I said had any sense.
