This happens to people who are watching "Seven Samurai" in three days. After this I decided to watch more and more and more. Now it's kind of obsession ;)

Zupelnie przypadkiem dobilam sie do Asiatorrents i teraz to moje totalne zrodlo szczescia.

It's ok ;)

I always have films phase. I'm crazy about old films, how you can see in my list. I really don't know what kind of power drew me to the Japanese cinematography but I love it. Dramas are good relaxation after so many films ;)

Totally agree with IRIS part. Overall, I didn't enjoy IRIS that much but I ended it for Lee Byung Hun and character of Kim Seon Hwa. She was great and the best female character in the whole drama. I'll be honest, Choi Seung Hee annoyed me as hell.

"Onibaba" wasn't a horror standard of the 60'. It's kaidan (ghost story) and it has its own rules. In the same year, 1964, was released one of the most famous Japanese films (and horror but not so scary like most horror fans like it), "Kwaidan" directed by Kobayashi Masaki. In 1960 was released gore horror, "Jigoku" which opened Japanese market for this kind of films. Year before, by the same director (Nakagawa Nobuo), had premiere "Tokaido Yotsuya Kaidan" - film interpretation of the classic kabuki play. In 50' there were kaidan, same with monster films. Japanese always had a thing for horror and many different kinds of it.

Yeah, I'm awful XD

Great article! I watched all of this movies except from Onibaba and Higurashi no Naku Koro ni...and four of them…
"Ringu" scared me so much that I couldn't watch Asian films for years XD I'm still scared to re-watch "Ringu". I'm still not sure if I haven seen "Dark Water". I really can't recall if it was Japanese or American remake. I need to watch it again. And before me "Ju-on" still. I like horror, I'm used to Asian gore (kinda)... Soon I'll have sleepless night XD

i to jak! Chociaz dwoch aktorow bardzo polubilam ;) Gdyby bylo wiecej action, byloby dobrze, mieli tyle okazji, aby byl sliczny twist. Zmarnowany potencjal. Szkoda, bo aktorow mieli swietnych, oprocz glownej pani, ktora byla odpowiedzialna za ten caly romans.
