Hi. I've been silent for a while but one question to you is in my mind. Maybe you remember our conversation some time ago - I mentioned in some films motifs straight from Buddhist's philosophy or mythology. I wondered why you don't want to watch films with such things or you need to be ready (or that sort of thing you said). You're interested in Japanese history so I guess you know how important shinto and buddhism are - to be honest, in my opinion it's essential if you want to understand many things like whole historical process. Most of Japanese are buddhists, almost all characters you can consider as buddhists. Samurai culture was based on buddhism too. Like every religion or social philosophy had huge impact and it's kinda hard (if not impossible) to avoid. I'm only asking 'cause of curiosity :)

bardzo chetnie pomoge. Mi samej kiedys chodzilo po glowie, aby japonskie filmy rozmiescic w ramach czasowych. Bedzie troche nierownowagi, bo sa okresy szalenie popularne w filmie. Daj znac, kiedy zaczynasz Japonie i bede podsuwac kolejne informacje :)

I agree, after this film I understood that I'm able to watch everything. Really, everything and there's a lot of bizarre stuff around.

It was first part by the same director. And true, I'm very tough, I've seen too much in film. Even I'm amazed how I can watch some scenes, and even find in them sense of humour (Miike is like that with his "Visitor Q"). Sometimes I can't handle when they harm cats, but not always. Definition of torture porn is this whole Saw franchise, each film was about making more blood and corpse.

Today I think I'll watch last films from "Shinobi no mono" series. Japanese films are here to satisfy me ;D

Maybe in future you'll give this drama a try? I need to find a nice TVB drama for you too ;) But I'm kinda easy to satisfy - I just adore whole scenery, costumes etc. Sometimes I'm forgetting what's going on, only stare at very detailed rooms etc.

So many Chinese dialects and so little time ;)

I'm surprised how I enjoy this drama - it has some cliches but all is pretty nice written. I like mixture of emotions - once I'm laughing and then I'm near to cry but it's not over the top. I hope I won't "forget" about this drama lol.

I'm watching now three dramas and I'm happy with it xD You know why I watch "War and Beauty", I like "Last Cinderella". But my fave is "Jejoongwon". I promised to myself that I'll watch at least one ep a day of this drama. I really like it. And it has 36 eps, I'm going to survive it xD

Visitor Q is not a horror at all, it has no gore but definitely more sexual content and that's twisted (or maybe it's not enough to say). I even can call it sort of porn (I won't use word 'twisted' anymore, lol). I'm not sure do you want to know, or maybe you already know, it has one very disturbing scene (but really disturbing, whole film is like that anyway but this one scene, well). Watching this film is pushing some limits.

it had some meaning, I'm sure about it but it was very very (very!) twisted. Definitely, I have no regrets about watching it - it was a good experience after all. I'm a huge fan of weird films anyway, and I'm going to catch up with some horrors like ones by Argento (yesterday I've seen 'Suspiria', today maybe 'Inferno'). Yeah, too much Asian films are making me less sensitive for European flicks, lol. I'll end up as a cinephile one day xD (if I'm not already 'cause of Asian cinema).

I know, it took me a long time. But I've seen "Visitor Q" and it was so weird and twisted. I'm not sure what it was. Family film with pathology and the end was... Ok, if you ready for really explict content, watch it. I'm not sure what to say more ;)

I've seen "Inferno of Torture" ;) And of course I found there was a first film from 1968... Anyway, I really enjoy it (if I can say so, lol). Even the violence wasn't so over the top (ok, tree but I guess human body can react like this). And I adore Japanese style of tattooing.

Be also ready for a kind of tear jerker but not in a very romantic sense. It's more about how life can be rough. I really hope you'll like it :)
