The budget is low,if you are the type who is able to overlook bad cgi for the sake of good plot, watch it.Otherwise, I would recommend the donghua (chinese anime).

no problem! Just a warning, the novel is a lot darker and the dynamic is slightly different between the main couple because there is a lot of toxicity between them.

I have not finished the series but I know how it ends, Wi Bi gets into a car accident and it ends on a cliffhanger. Despite this ending, i think it is very worth to watch and you can read the novel afterwards. I read the novel years ago and it has a happy ending, they end up together.

If you are hesitant like me whether to watch this because you are not sure if it's bl or bromance, it's a bl. First of all, on Viki where I am watching it it is tagged as lgbtq content. Secondly, I have watched 6 eps so far, and what the main characters have going on can not be labelled as platonic or simple friendship. We literally see the process of Wu Bi crushing on Su Yu and getting jealous of his past love interest. I don't know why some people call it a bromance. This is definitely a bl.

That being said, I am enjoying this version much better than the original one.The pacing feels more natural and I did not expect the chemistry of the actors to be on par, or dare I say, even better than the actors in the original.
