Well your original question was you didn't understand why she was sent to a "military man" when she didn't want to learn martial arts so I answered why she was sent. Also, her family didn't send her brother - he decided spontaneously to stay and train with the general without informing anyone

In the first few episodes it's heavily implied that she was sent because the head of the Cui family wanted to protect the family after she was betrothed to the newly appointed (and disposable) crown princess by giving the Cui family a new ally in Xiao NanCheng Wang

I feel the same way about Yang Mi. I used to love her until I started watching her in Great Escape and now she just puts me off. I don't like how all her jokes are about putting other people down- she is just constantly saying stuff that revolves around making fun of someone else and finding that funny, and also doesn't help the team all that much

I really loved all the characters! It felt way longer than 24 epi because of how much story got told. There's little to no fillers. And I love how even the side characters get a backstory. I'm absolutely loving Si Ma Dang and the doctor!! How cute are they? I REALLY REALLY hope there's a S2!
