Entertaining but Forgettable....
This was an entertaining watch, one of those dramas I watched today but will most probably forget tomorrow or the day after... as I had to take a break in my binge (a few days) and it took me a while to remember what the plot was once I started watching the last two episodes. While I do not like the female lead. By not like I mean I generally try to avoid her dramas, this was one of her better works, still not very likeable but indeed bearable.
Pretty much every single one of the side characters stories out shine the leads, by chemistry, story line, acting... You name it the other characters carry this show and are what makes it an entertaining watch worthy of that next episode button.
Male lead was fun in the beginning giving me my beloved cliches bit grew dull towards the end all in all an ok way to pass time...

Scattered ashes, dust and broken glass made pretty...
This is the drama that is there to teach viewers not to touch unknown statues and stay out of the forest...This drama is all about the aesthetics and less about the plot, ,gore and elements of surprise one may expect in a Action, Thriller, Horror, Fantasy. As the creators of this drama must have started off brainstorming pretty locations and things that could look cool + added cast known for being nice on the eye and then tried to sow it together as well as they could.
The first two episodes or so Won Mi Ho (Lee Da Hee) has more scream time than Father Johan (Cha Eun Woo, the main attraction of this show) has screen time. Three is less dialog than screaming too... So you may just want to turn off the sound to watch it.
The scenery and cinematography is just so pretty... The forest, the sea, the streams... drone taken pictures from above every few minutes... Water, fog, ashes, more ashes and what is supposed to be horror type demons that again look like ashes... Father Johan asserting his exorcism over a bed... Can be triggering for some and pleasurable for others... I will admit I had to sort my own thoughts here the whole in gods name type of deal was probably the scariest part of the show.
There is a plot here, it is neither new or very interesting if I am to be perfectly honest, but there are som nice little gems here and there with good lines and issues brought to lite that are not fully explored but I appreciate them being mentioned. Such as consent, power relations (I love my power relations), men who hate woman, domestic abuse, and human trafficking disguised as adoption.
I wish they would stop doing: Splitting dramas in 2, just stop it, even Prime Video gets that there is no point of splitting it and has it as one.
All in all an ok watch that gats extra points for being so pretty!
Also do not expect much logic or to be kept on your toes... or to get captivated by this, its pros are the aesthetics and CEWs charm...

A play with conventions done odd
Well this was.... ehem odd...In this drama we get to follow the thoughts of a girl who has lived long enough to realise that life is just not as lovely as she thought it would be when she was young. Having pretty much no special skills, dreams or hints of aspiration she basically just want to get by and thinks very little of her self.
After a person just lowered her price tag she ends up i a share house with the guy who took her virginity, normally I would not say the word took for this type of situation but this is one of the very rare occasions where it works... She seams to feel a bit awkward/ashamed over the whole situation but somehow winds up with his erectile dysfunctional boner against her but and well it does not get less weird from there...
She also meets Hasse a guy with some other type of dysfunction in need of some TLC and Aki a fangirl who is probably the most together of the bunch...
Together they explore love, relationships, potential marriage ideas, friendship... Ok honestly they become something outside most family and romance conventions... Helping each other grow ( both relocation of blood-flow and spiritually) Refreshing, different and easy to watch. There are of course a bunch of misunderstandings and drama here and there, but hey we could not call it drama if it was to smooth of a glide... (sorry).
So do I recommend it, sure it is short easy to binge and not something you have seen before.
P.S. I also found it odd to see so much stuff from Sweden, something tells me IKEA sponsored this...

Evil that wont keep you on your toes, but feels more like a barefoot walk on asfalt.
First rule of K-thriller don't trust anyone and definitely not what you think you saw..,This is an interesting story with a very logical development its consistent, its realistic, its interesting and the acting and characters are flawless.
I loved the different relationships in this dram they are complex, they develop and they are pron to change. Strong bonds stretched to their limits and you could truly feel the pain the characters felt when someone close to them turned out to have a dark secret or two. Can one mistake erase 30 years of friendship?
This drama addresses several important issues and does it beautifully. Main point being taking responsibility for ones actions and the snowball effect of trying to hide ones actions and the people who make evil possible. However it didn't really keep me on my toes and at times I felt the series it self gave out spoilers a bit to soon making many of the plot twists a bit to predictable at the same time as I had to have in mind not to trust what I saw.
So if you are looking for something thrilling that will constantly keep you on your toes you might want to look elsewhere, if you want some consistent pace high quality storytelling and acting with corruption, a serial killer and really bad parenting this is definitely the place to go.
This series is definitely worth the watch, but keep your expectations on an even level so you don't get disappointed

The never ending flowery TCM ad
This could have been good or even great but they had to prolong it in all eternity turning this sweet and playful romcom to a never ending lesson about flowers, TCM (Tradituoinal Chineese Medicin) and traditional values as well as love yourself mumbo jumbo. The male lead starts of as this care free fun guy on a skateboard, flirty, playful, caring, respectful but with slightly lackin medical ethics and has this lovely cheeky charm.
Our female lead is smart, fun, broken down from a 7 year long toxic relationship with the side of parental pressure but her fun personality does shine though.
The two of them have this bubbly, fun , caring encounters, great chemistry and a true process as it is clear to see curiosity turning in to something more... Up util they actually get in to that something more. though the tow have some pretty intense great kisses +, once the two get together (actually even before they get together), I the viewer got tired of hearing about TCM, and felt that added twists and plot lines gave me nothing (except for some gazes and kissing). Whatever drama or attempt to add conflict was under developed, not dealt with and made me annoyed with the leads.
Some episodes where slow you could watch them in double speed without even noticing.
That said the friendships and side characters where lovely, I even enjoyed the female leads parents character development as well as their relationship. Im not going to say it is goals (since my IRL is better) but a decent depiction of long term parantehood/ married life, especially for a c. There where also a few scenes/plot lines here and there that reminded me of One Spring Night and Something in the Rain (two of my all time favourites), But it was just not enough to carry this for 28 long episodes...
So basically what I am saying is there is a lot of good in this but the male lead should have spent more time on his skateboard and less time saying cringy lines or they could just have cut the drama once he hung up his board on the wall.

An Ancient something
Time can be confusing indeed, and this is a story about questioning what you read in history books as well as accepting the things you can not change or something like that as we meet a man who is supposed to be smart but is oddly stupid for a smart guy and a really cool female lead who is awesome in every single way in this time twist Moon Lovers light meets One and Only light, very light and with a twist... offering us a really cool female lead a bunch of questions some cringe and slow mo dialog and pretty scenery here and there. To be honest I kind of lost interest after a while but kept at it for the female lead and lack of things to make me drop it. So it is an ok watch, not very good, not very bad it just is...

A boaring mess
What started off beautiful and with some kind of potential ended up a boring mess... So I am so sorry to say this but there is a limit to how far you can get with beautiful things who shatter and pretty faces... As I found the plot messy, boring and as if they where trying to mix Goblin with some kind of nature exorcism, war of the demons and probably something more and just made a pretty mess out of it all...Our priest Johan (Cha Eun Woo) is probably the only reason to watch this drama, I am not saying the others do not do a good job with what they are given but , they just didn't get nuch to work with while our priest was basically the only one given anything worth watching...
And well the scenery and Johan may have been able to hold my attention for part one but where just not enough to captivate me for part two...
I guess what I want to say is, if you are going to watch this start off by having low expectations and then lower them a little bit (a lot) more for the second part.
You could also skip/speed watch and only watch the scenes where our priest Johan is present... you can probably piece the rest of the plot together a lot better without actually watching the show.

Objectively good just not for me
This is a drama that I can objectively see is good and objectively understand why someone would recommend it it to me and most people. As it has a great cast, a new take on supernatural investigations and a whole lot of good to offer. However the male lead is as stupid as it gets, and is just alittle bit to stupid for me to enjoy watching him. And I am just not one who enjoys episodic mysteries that much. While I did enjoy watching them raise some issues once the show gave life and emotions to objects they kind of lost my interest, it felt a little bit to silly for me.
So actors Great!
Female lead- Amazing!
The mom- Loved her!
Story- actually pretty good
So for those who like supernatural, objects with emotions, investigation with fun twists and mostly lovable characters this is a great place to find it.
If you are like me who needs to connect more with the story, cast and so on you might as well watch something else.

Friends and lawyers in the beige city
This drama gathers a really lovely cast mostly old familiar faces that I have seen in law dramas before. The drama has a slight hospital playlist meets law school vibe but without the drama and suspense of law school and without the deep friends to lovers tension of hospital playlist as the romance and plot is as beige as Kang Hui Ji (Mun Ka Young) suits.Basically taking something that could have been great but making it a bit draggy and with a complete lack of spark. The episodic nature of this was just flat and most of the stories where neither new or especially interesting, giving me the feeling of Iv seen this before done better. That said the drama does have enough moments of brilliance to push it towards the 8 star rating and those are:
1. The meals the group of friends share in this and the way those five interact and bond as a group Shows some of the sweetest moments of friendship to be seen in all of dramaland.
2. The married couples plot-line, the way they interact, the support and the playfulness of their relationship.
3. The work wife/husband dynamics between An Ju Hyeong (Lee Jong Suk) and Bae Mun Jeong (Ryu Hye Young) platonic friendship between genders that just works so well and makes you (or at leas me) wish you had one of those at work too.
4. The bromance between Cho Chang Won (Kang You Seok) and Ha Sang Gi ( Im Sung Jae) I could probably have watched a spin off with just those two.
So to sum it up this is probably more of a 7,75 than an 8 but worth a binge for the characters just don´t expect a mind blowing romance or an interesting plot and you will be fine
P.S the PPL in this was lovely with both Kopiko, Subway and a bunch of drnks... made me feel so familiar...

Sloppy
This is a pretty mediocre drama, despite having a decent plot, a good mix of drama, depth and fluff it still falls flat due to annoying elements, sloppy badly handled predictable twists, a whole lot of boring scenes. Taking away focus important scenes in favour of cheap twists.A bit like being served fast food in a 5 star hotel, or gourmet dishes served on paper plates in a crowded stadium it just feels wrong and sloppy. The flavours are there, the ingredients are top but while some parts are overcooked or even burnt it is still frozen in the middle....
As I love the leads, I love one of the second couples, I even loved the second female lead in the beginning.
There are a few scenes that are pure gold where they talk about family, divorce, and obsession. Where they actually show a slightly different angle of the broken family then I am used to seeing on screen, with scenes that reminded me of the less happy moments of my childhood, and while I almost started ot get my hopes up by the end of the twist/plotline all had been ruined... Or at leas I found it hard to relate.
The intimate scenes between the leads are top, top, tastefully made and delt with really well, however the introverted couple definitely stole the show, and honestly the third couple came in with a bang and while I love the bickering trope this was done so badly and annoyingly that I had to skip their scenes just to be able to finish this.

How about friendships or family?
Is it the person or their back you fall in love with?
And who is truly a stand in? Arn't we all just standing in for someone whenever we are in the wrong place?
It is also a drama that will make you want to google a bunch of stuff like inhairitance laws and copyright.
The second male lead is really cute, not as good a singer as they seem to try to make us believe but deffenetly the type of character that steals the show with just one scene.
While there are a lot of attempts to make the viewers forgive and fall for the rich male lead and his family. I aint falling for it, actually it had me rather annoyed instead. Making me want to say, oh for just admit that the guy is trash, and that sometimes people fall for toxic waste dumps and move on with tha plot instead of covering us with flowers and perfume...
The logic in this is lacking and the cringe towards the end is the type that had me hiding behind my hand with one eye showing.
An okay watch, entertaining most of the time.
Ps the intamacy scenes and side characters where really well made.

Still, very still
Still + Life, very still life a moment in time captured on film that gives it the feeling of watching a Documentary without the narrating voice that often follows + some fantasy shots here and there to make sure we know it is a movie and not a Documentary.About 50% of the film is a bunch of half naked working men, eating noodles and singing... concrete surrounded by beautiful views, more concreete and demolishen work spraying even more concrete around.
Not a lot of dialog, not really sure what actually happened as it was really boring... and though there are some powerful scenes here and there they are clouded by the dust from all the demolition work...
The quality of the filming has a nostaligic feel to it that had me thinking it was shot in the 70s and not end of the 1990s-2006...
But it is indeed a still life film

Ambush...
Well... this was slightly confusing a movie where they spared the blood but not the gunshots with very little plot (if any). A movie where we are left to fill in the blanks quite a lot, I guess you could say this is a movie without a mission therefore they had to call it The Mission.A movie that has you wondering why is a man who has just survived an attempted assassination always i big spaces where he can easily be shot?
I get it that this was pre covid and pre teams but I am sure they could schedule meetings in slightly safer/more controllable settings. But then again we would not have anything to watch now would we*?
An ok watch that was oddly entertaining at times, stupid as ***

Sweet and Simple with a side of Cringe
This is the story about a sweet introverted boy who broke his guitar, got turned down by his long time crush in a pretty cruel way and to top it off he attracted an obsessed guy who kind of lacks boundaries extrovert... but in a cute way. After that they went on a sweet journey of friendship and music... plus a bunch of other stuff... There is love, awkward kisses, less awkward kisses... Mediocre to good acting (sometimes in the same person), some drama and a whole lot of scenes (ok 2 or 3) with a guy dramatically pulling empty luggage and a side of cringe.
The friendships in this are really nice, so is the mother, our villain is just awful and not even cute but most of all this is a fluffy orangey yellow lighting drama with mostly fluff and just enough drama to give it a story beyond the fluff... Easy to watch, easy to binge and had it not been for some of the over the top cringe I may even have rated it higher.
P.S: The styling and most of the acting preformed by of our extrovert lead was just awful the first episode, luckily it gets better... But Introverted boy rocks the introverted thing from start to finish.

Fanservice, fanservice, and more fanservice...
These two episodes are pure cuteness, some predictable drama seemingly there just to make it seem as if there is a plot or story but basically this is just a whole bunch of cheese, kisses and fluff. Now I am a person who can appreciate fluff, so it still gets an 8 as I do get to see some beloved characters again... watch whatever happened next including some of my beloved bickering, gazes and what not so I am in no way complaining.
However I can not say that these two episodes where watched for a story... So if you enjoyed The Eclipse and feel like reuniting with some of the characters without having to use your mind or feel stuff go for it this will probably be a fun watch. If you are looking for substance re.watch the original story or watch something else.
P.S the kisses felt like the guys where trying to eat each others faces so no dead fish in sight... Also the OST is cute!
