Title Encounter
Bogummie got a haircut, I think that signals a makeover during the drama.

If anyone's interested in what knetz thought on finale:
Article: Naver 'The Smile Has Left Your Eyes' Seo In Guk ♥ Jung So Min, together from the start till the end.

[+1636,-30] It's much more understandable that he avoided everyone near him. It was an ending that did the original version justice. When Moo Young said he wants to live, my heart hurt so much that I cried together. ㅠㅠ There is no acting hole in here, this is really the best drama.

[+1446,-33] The two have really good acting skills. The immersion is insane.

[+871,-32] Seriously, a drama without any acting holes.. I was happy thanks to The Smile Has Left Your Eyes these days.

[+765,-13] Really, it's been a while I've watched a drama that gave me a lingering image at the ending.. The two are too pitifulㅠㅠ.. A drama which I can see the actors again, their acting skills were the best.

[+551,-25] Acting saved it well and the story is really good too.

[+354,-13] Seo In Guk should act all his life.. I didn't know he could act so deeply. This drama totally left me a deep impression. I can't think of anyone else but Seo In Guk for the male lead role. Even his eyes are different.

[+313,-7] I like our country's version more than the original version.. In the original version, the female lead misunderstood and killed the male lead. When she finds out about the truth, she kills herself. It was an ending full of frustrations. But still, the both of them knew the truth and knew about their true feelings in this one, they ended it cleanly. I like the scriptwriter, the directing, and the acting. I think I'll remember it for a long time.

[+206,-2] They are kids who wanted to live.... They were determined to live... They disappeared... in vain...

[+202,-4] I cried the whole time. It was so sad when he was lying in front of the cottage house and talking to Jin Kang in his imaginations. Moo Young curled up was so pitiful too. I think this is the best for this. I'll remember it for a long time.

[+168,-6] If not for Seo In Guk's and Jung So Min's good acting skills, it would be hard to imagine The Smile Has Left Your Eyes. A drama that I'll remember for a long time..

Article: Naver 'Smile Has Left Your Eyes' Park Sung Woong tells Seo In Guk the truth, "Jung So Min is not your sister"

[+514,-10] As expected, they went a different path from the original version.. I'm happy that they aren't siblings.

[+276,-2] It was so sad that I burst into tears. ㅠㅠ I'm thankful that Seo In Guk and Jung So Min made such a great drama for us. You've worked hard! I'll keep supporting you two in the future too.

[+166,-2] He's such a pitiful character.

[+96,-0] She shouldn't die even if she gets shot. ㅠㅠ

[+56,-0] I cried so much because it was so sad. It was so sad when the both died.. They shouldn't kill them, and let them live happily. It's so sad. ㅠㅠ

[+51,-0] Seo In Guk's acting is no joke though?

[+49,-0] A sad ending... I feel so bad for Moo Young and Jin Kang. ㅠㅠ

Actually, it's a tragedy. Full blown one, all the classic components. High tragedy, a la Romeo & Juliet. Beautiful…
are they actually mutually exclusive? I need to do some editing if so oof

I don't get why it says this drama is restricted to those under the age of 15...
really late reply, but most korean dramas are 15+ it's not restricting to under, but over.

I'm actually not upset over the ending. When the scene occurred, I was just screaming 'what the fuck' in my head, but after it all ended, it is quite a beautiful scene. Bittersweet, but the fact that they died in each others' grasps knowing they love each other is more than I could ask. I'm just glad they didn't go down the incest route.

This almost reminds me of something akin to Romeo and Juliet. Tragic, but beautiful.

I don't get why people are saying that Seo In Guk couldn't carry the role. He was amazing.
People just love jumping on hate bandwagon. It's fine to have differing opinions, but the people that are voting that review that says SIG couldn't carry the role are clearly just voting because it's the only negative review they can vote on.

That review is 1 paragraph long and has no substance, explains nothing behind their reasonings and it's at the top for what reason? Because people are too petty to just accept they don't like a drama.

do you guys recommend it? Did it get boring at any point?
I definitely recommend it if you enjoy a thriller romance melodrama. I did get very frustrated with the characters at many points, but the drama was never boring for me.

She's a psychopath so I don't think she could help but provoke him. I think she was also mad when he started showing…
yeah definitely. her perspective of him was so distorted thinking he held the same family beliefs as she did, especially towards her brother.

I was just astonished that she saw him pull it out, but pretty much disregarded it completely. She was even more insane than I had originally anticipated

He didn't question her, because he had suspicions that they were siblings to begin with. This is shown when she…
"Moo-Young is extremely composed and calculating even in the most unexpected intense and emotional situations. He never acts without thinking things through. He would never react so horrifically and irrationally to Se Ran's threats. (...as to murder someone on impulse )"

While I will typically agree, I will argue that Moo Young has demonstrated to change as a person when Jin Kang is involved. This is the most extreme case thus far, but he clearly loses that composure out of fear for Jin Kang. That is what sets him apart from those especially like Jang Se Ran

In the in Korean version the title seems more appropriate with the plot, sometimes you can show your happiness…
Stars was the original's title lol...

why are you being so toxic in the comments? I get if you don't like Kdramas, but you don't need to constantly spread your hate about it. You've commented about this countless times already; give it a rest.

I think at that point he just felt so guilty about getting her into this relationship, he wanted to end things asap. Him being desperate or in denial about it wouldn't have been in character either tbh.

What the fuck. That psycho kept provoking Moo Young even when he pulled out the gun??? I didn't think he'd actually shoot, but he fucking shot her multiple times. I mean, good riddance, she was psychotic af, but still, that caught me by surprise
