>1 min in >sees innocent girl on beach get brutally stabbed to death
and this is why i don't go outside. jokes, but holy shit I was not expecting this..... dropped for me, mostly cuz I can't stomach gore. Wanted to pick up a horror, but not the gory kind rip
The two top reviews are pretty much on opposite sides of the spectrum. Not sure if I should watch it...Anyone…
The top two reviews are pretty low effort /sorrynotsorry--not even in the mood to hide my disgust at voters. Idk wtf people were thinking before voting.
Gosh if I could upvote this a dozen times, I would; this should be at the top. Thank you as always for your beautiful reviews! I will comment on the comedy though--it wasn't as abundant in the beginning but there was plentiful towards the end I feel.
I don't wanna throw shade, but why are the top 2 reviews for this drama so low effort???
If you're looking for a drama that touches heavily on beauty standards in an in depth light, you're looking in…
Yes, they can have serious elements in them, but it's not like a romcom is going to go in depth into beauty standards. That's exactly what Gangnam Beauty does; it touched on beauty standards in a serious fashion (you can't tell me it wasn't in a serious fashion either...or we were definitely watching a different drama--Mi Rae almost broke down multiple times in response to people's reactions; touching on beauty standards was at the very least one point that wasn't mixed with the comedy), but didn't go super in depth, and more revolved around Mi Rae being able to love herself and in result, love others--thus the romance. If you thought it was executed in poor fashion, that's a different story, and I respect your opinion--I do think they went over the top for some elements (mostly concerning some side characters' personalities), so I can't say I'd disagree if that were the case.
Many common foods contain appetite suppressants, so I'm not sure how it is "unnatural". You as might well criticize dramas for placing anything that's fatty foods, high in protein, carbs, or caffeine. These are appetite suppressants, and they are most definitely not unnatural. The beverage in the drama is bottled tea, which barely has any caffeine (the main appetite suppressant in teas). Tea is also rich in catechins, which helps boost metabolism. There's nothing unnatural here. I'm going to want to see a source when studies are brought up :x
Yes, Soo A is definitely mentally conflicted. I haven't seen the last ep either yet, but I do hope she is able to get help for all her problems, especially from the Class President who's been trying to hard to reach out to her. Sad the same can't be same for all the misogynist men in this drama, especially mophead.
After the disaster that was ep 1, ep 2 was a lot better!
I love Hoya/Ki Joon; he's so cheerful and uplifting and genuinely supports Ki Beum despite everyone against her. It hurts to know that he's not gonna end up with Ki Beum. The main lead is such a jerk; I don't support him with Ki Beum at all. Hopefully he improves as the drama progresses. I don't need more SLS lol
I'm at ep 4 and would like to ask: when do people get to know about the real Soo Ah?
Towards the very last few episodes. Before then, only Kyung Seok sees through her; the rest sometimes doubt her intentions but never fully realize until the end.
Episode 1 was a complete mess....the script makes no sense and interactions are so corny, but I'm still gonna continue for the cast, unless it gets really unbearable.
ngl, this had potential, but there are too many flaws imo. they act like preteens starting high school, and the…
If you're looking for a drama that touches heavily on beauty standards in an in depth light, you're looking in the wrong place. This is a romcom first and foremost. I'm not sure what you were expecting from a romcom. Like the main 2 tags are literally Comedy and Romance. Of course they're going to focus on that. If you just aren't enjoying that aspect, that's perfectly fine, but not expecting romcom from...well, a romcom.. is just kind of silly, no?
I also feel like people don't understand what the products in the drama even do. I will copy paste my other comment:
"For those criticizing product placement in the latest episodes..
I don't think weight loss beverages are a problem--you're still getting the necessary nutrients you need. It's not like drinking those beverages also means you can't eat anything else; in fact metabolism boosting beverages encourage eating MORE.
I can't really say anything about the pills, since they're associated with Soo A, but the drama is definitely criticizing purging (forcefully throwing up)."
I don't see why everyone keeps seeing weight loss beverages in a negative light. They're healthy and incentivize eating more. Weight loss pills are also harmless, and there's nothing wrong with wanting to lose weight. The drama was definitely more criticizing Soo A's methods of losing weight, which was mainly purging. There's quite frankly, nothing contradicting about the products unless you're either talking about another product in the drama or have some personal vendetta against weight loss. Being happy about your weight is encouraged, but so is healthily losing weight.
I personally disagree with the acting sentiments, but that's your opinion, and I'll respect it \o/
