Episode 37The reunion of the Princess and Feng Suige was sweet but… She really doesn’t deserve the brother…
This drama blurs the line between right and wrong, showing that everyone’s hatred and actions are justified to some extent by their own experiences. Xia Jingshi, in particular, stands out as a character consumed by his obsession (as the female lead points out), which ultimately transforms him into someone truly evil and irredeemable. Unlike others, he seems to lack any chance of redemption .While this might be a minority opinion, I find Xia Jingshi to be a tragic character. It feels as though the scriptwriter was determined to deny him any path to salvation. From the very beginning, his fate seemed sealed when he broke his bond with the female lead—a decision that, in hindsight, feels somewhat unnecessary and contrived. Did he really have to kill her? That plot point, in particular, seemed excessive. As for Murong Yao, I struggled to fully grasp the extent of his power and influence by the end of the story and as such the need to sacrifice FL to protect his identity.
I remembered where I saw the actor playing the emperor, Qin Tian Yu. He acted in a short drama, Threads of Destiny that ended up being quite engaging (I never really watch short dramas but this was a pleasant surprise). He was so good in that one, too. He's definitely someone to watch.
Hii! So I can't deal with the episode waiting for Love in the Clouds (my heart hurts too much waiting) T_T so…
I'm also watching both at the same time. Fated Hearts is a lot stronger (plot wise and acting wise), I was personally a lot more excited about Love in the Clouds (I loved Huo Ming Hao in Dashing Youth!) but Fated Hearts makes it look a lot more shallow both in terms of the plot, the acting and the overall production (costumes, settings, etc).
It looks like they're 'grooming' FSG's brother to be the emperor. He's now miraculously wisened up and is poised and mature. I knew they wouldn't let FSG become the emperor. I have yet to watch a Chinese drama where they let that happen. They most give up power for love and to 'roam the world.' SoKP, AoL, and other dramas directed by Chu Yui Bun all ended up the same. Based on his dramas, I think he views power as an obligation and a duty -- more of a trap than something to be coveted.
The same rapid drop in ratings happened to literally all the 'hot' dramas that have aired in the last month -- TIA, LOFTG, SL, TJOL ... the ratings are high to start with and then drop super fast. They recover somewhat slowly afterwards.
I'm a bit weirded out that both brothers married the "same" person and absolutely no one made a comment…
Fair observation, I'm guessing it's because the Crown Prince is not in a true relationship with Zhao Ruo Xi. And Fu Wei as a personality is so completely different than Zhao Ruo Xi that they come across as two different people. But I agree the plot is a bit messed up and it's getting weirder.
I love Hou Ming Hao (and he's getting better with each new role) but I am not a huge fan of Tan Song Yun. I find her acting a bit pedantic in most of her roles, and have ended up dropping every one of her past movies. Torn about this one, maybe it'll be a pleasant surprise.
The trailer is front and center on YouKu now -- they've now added a second trailer (which seems more sad than the original one?) Is it coming out soon? Super excited for it.
