I don't get your comment about social media. You can look up the stats and Thailand is definitely very big on…
I'm going over and over to your social media comment because I don't understand how you want them to portray how intertwined SNS to the lives of younger Thais. What would be an "authentic" depiction of that for you?

The problem is you want the creators of the show to take a stance on things you care about. What's the problem with just showing things the way they are? So what if the show is "glorifying" consumerism or "pushing the social media agenda" if that's what's actually happening in Thailand? Does every piece of media have to be a think piece? Do you need your shows and movies to always abide to your personal worldviews?
And now you're accusing me of using Western opinions to validate my claims when you're the first one to bring up reddit (which leans American), and to support your claim about social media fatigue no less. That place hates social media. Meta SNSs would be on life support now if the redditors claiming they're abadoning Facebook and IG actually reflect the sentiments of the general public.
Now compare the daily active Thai users of Pantip to FB, TikTok, IG, etc. Clearly the opinions of the few reflect reality amirite

I guess you don't get it because you're 30 and you're probably not from Thailand or the surrounding region.
I'm at the tail-end of Gen Z and from a neighboring Southeast Asian country, and I can tell you that the "over-reliance" to SNS as shown in the series is not forced. I don't find it weird or odd that these young characters are just on their screens most of the time, or that their social relationships and interactions are heavily tied to SNS because that's totally the norm here. Social media fatigue is not a thing here and will probably not be in at least another decade. I understand if all this feels empty or unrealistic to you if you're not from around here.
Since you trust reddit, you can go look for what foreigners have to say about Thai people regarding their social media usage/addiction.
Idk, it's giving me nothing. It’s pretty much former Nadao writers trying to do a Gen Z series, but it doesn’t…
I don't get your comment about social media. You can look up the stats and Thailand is definitely very big on social media usage especially the younger generation. And then you also cite reddit as if the discussions there accurately represent anything in real life lol
I'm not sure if foreigners can notice this because they always talk in Gen Z slang in Thai, but the dialogue in…
I don't speak Thai so I watched with subititles. At first, I didn't understand what you were talking about but as I was trying to recall the last episode, I think I see what you mean. Are you talking about stuff like them performing in public or when they were screaming for some pop group behind the glass? Those two scenes confused me. There were no scenes leading to them. They just happened.
But I think you're talking about something else lol
I really hate how some Japanese BLs (or dramas in general I guess) make their characters behave like anime characters. It takes me out of the immersion.
I'm a BL fan so I was disappointed with the removal of the gay elements, but the "boycott" doesn't make sense. Even if BL fans don't watch this, there are still more people that would since non-BL fans are the target audience...
"It's not BL/gay in my opinion." It's definitely an opinion, I give you that. But it's a stupid one. It's like watching Titanic and saying the ship didn't sink.
I was wondering why the shooting, editing, and other stuff were finished in just a few months (or weeks?) after they announced they started filming. Now I know why lol.
I'll probably still watch because Film's character here is very interesting.
I'm also curious on how k-bl productions make money from bl series. Does anyone know any article I could read about this?
