On Manner of Death Feb 10, 2021
Is it just me or is the audio for ep. 12 on WeTV broken? There was a lot of background noise, much more than usual, and I can't explain where it could come from. Not too distracting, but makes the post production seem very cheap.

agreed! this feels like it's purely for shock value. there's no reason that a show that is primarily comedy needs…
I understand your feeling, but I do not agree that this show is “primarily comedy”. Season 1 was, maybe, but season 2 was very different from the start, the comedy has clearly been sidelined (that’s why I prefer this season over the first one). So Ton’s death feels far from random to me at this point, the story had already enough gravitas. In season one it would however have felt inappropriate for sure …

Production value was decent and it had some genuinely funny moments, but the lacking chemistry between the leads, the absurd story, the over-the-top comedy and the very insensitive treatment of serious issues (toxic masculinity, homophobia, surrogate motherhood) made watching this rather painful. I'm glad it wasn't longer. Still gets a 6 from me, but I seriously considered dropping it ...

Yes, same here. I'm not sure if I should be annoyed by it or just regard it as the particular style. We shall see ...

Title Better Days
Nothing special story-wise, but the aesthetics were really nice; I loved the colours, especially after so many city-centered series!

I discuss it in my review (9*), but I'll leave this comment here as well, maybe someone else has thoughts on it as well: I strongly assume that something went wrong during the production of this season, forcing them either to radically cut scenes that had originally been filmed or to skip parts of the screenplay already during filming. Probably GMMTV had to rearrange their schedule due to the pandemic and this series ended up in an airing spot it was not designed for. In my opinion, the screenplay was probably aiming at a format similar to “Who Are You”, with 18 episodes à 60 minutes (maybe a little less, 16 episodes or so).

Bew is the best character....Said what I said. She has had the best range and better development than the other…
Not totally sure if she qualifies as an anti-hero, since she was essentially driven by self-pity and didn’t have any higher goals (or did I miss something?). And she wasn’t just a victim either. But all of that certainly makes her a great character!

It's 10× better. Hah. I feel the love story between Boyo and Good was the worst of season 1. It felt very cheesy…
I wouldn’t go for a 10-times improvement, but better for sure. Or rather a proper continuation of the strong first half of season 1; that one took a dive towards the end with all the forced “happy” endings. Hopefully they don’t ruin the ending again!

You can hate me. I don’t care. but this series is much better than some over-rated series like 2gether. I don’t…
Seriously, I’ve had four different series airing on Fridays these last weeks, and Friend Zone was always the first one I watched!

I get the feeling that Earth wanted Sam to feel like everything was back to "normal" and okay so when Earth cheats…
I also thought that the scene before leaving the restaurant looked a little suspicious. We'll see, I guess. I'm certainly not a fan of Earth and Stud as a couple, but as I commented somewhere else already, it fits well with the general attitude of the show.

This season may get a 10 from me no matter the ending. It's just so well written. Never a dull moment.I personally…
I don't disagree. But this show was never about working relationships, was it? The developments imo fit very well with the overall attitude shown.

They usually just do re-runs during the holiday season
Well, it’s not exactly “holiday season” in Thailand. But I don’t remember whether they usually aired anything around new year. Also, they didn’t fill the Saturday and the second Sunday spot in a while, but probably their output has been severely affected by the pandemic. Anyway, none of the two mentioned series sound too interesting to me, only waiting for Tale of a Thousand Stars anymore …

Since I just completed a recently finished airing BL with a really shitty directing (Love By Chance 2), I just…
Wanna see bad directing? Then watch something directed by Dan Worrawech :D The problems with LBC2 lay somewhere else imo, but whatever.
