What a fantastic movie! Highly recommended, I really like the pacing and the good mix of comedic and epic moments. Sometimes the Avengers (or even Guardians of the Galaxy), sometimes the Professionals (the 1966 movie), sometimes Robin Hood – and all within the context of Thai history and Southeast Asian mythology

For those who (like me) only watched the TV version of the series on YouTube: the uncut final episode is 30 minutes longer! So it might be worth rewatching it, as they had to cut a lot for the TV version. With the other episodes it was usually just 10 minutes …

I just watched it and I think I can answer some of your questions. He collected the money for the victims’ fund, so they could cancel their debts with the bank (and maybe even win the lawsuit, now that they have new evidence). He explains that on the phone first and also directly to Lee in the car. And the parts for the bomb were planted in his house right at the beginning of the movie, you can see his wife receiving a package by mail. The incompetence of the police (how did they just let someone talk with Lee without even verifying his identity?) remains a big question mark …

Are we sure this will have 16 episodes? I feel like we are approaching the end (more like 12 episodes?)

I don’t know if that’s supposed to be his alter ego, it’s just his name (while Playboy is obviously a pseudonym). I didn’t catch any “conversation” between the two, but obviously he was torn between his more violent nature and his wish to care for the boy.

To be honest, I thought most of the effects were decent enough and in line with the overall production value. Only the fight scenes got mildly amusing :D

Thank you! Just finished it and I totally agree with what you say. The “messages” of this series are just so blatantly unethical, I am really upset. As an Italian, I am of course particularly angered by the romanticisation and belittlement of the mafia, an organisation which is a true evil in this country, claiming countless lives and weakening civil society. In addition, there were several weaknesses in storytelling (why reveal the antagonist’s identity so early? why have Vincenzo passively kneel on the ground and let the others get shot at the beginning of ep. 20 for no reason?). They could have gone all in with Vincenzo as a ruthless antihero, depicting a fully fatalistic image of society, without happy endings for anyone. But this sugarcoated version is just incredibly wrong on so many levels. Very disappointing …

Why would it not? It was the most successful movie in Korea in 2016, which is usually counted based on the box office made at cinemas.

I don’t want to criticise this really well-done series, but I am getting a little uncomfortable with how they seem to romanticise child labour here. Am I the only one?

The episodes on YouTube are blocked in those areas where another (usually paid) streaming service (like Line TV, WeTV, Netflix etc.) has the license for the series. Not to talk about the PRC, where YouTube is unavailable entirely. So yeah, I’m not surprised that even people from other areas may not be aware of the availability on YouTube. Some time ago, for example, an Italian YouTuber promoted using a Korean VPN to be able to watch 2gether on Netflix! :D He was very surprised when I pointed him at the YouTube channel …
