For me it needs to get darker. Comedy feels out of place here
Agree .. but I think the issue is more about characters' depth than it is about darkness .. the plot is so good in my opinion and it is dark enough (I haven't seen the tribe vs king conflict since Empress Ki and this is why i wanna keep watching) .. but some characters are just so poorly written and do not fit the show .. for example Ga Jin's friends who are just there for pretending to follow their chief orders and lowkey help their friend without having an opinion about the whole situation (and who always manage to find her before anyone else lol)

It's low key a documentary if you wanted to know where the lack of uniqueness came from.
I don't agree at all .. Documentaries like drama are heavy sageuk like Six flying dragons, The tree roots, Maids, Nokdu flower ... with many realistic characters and events . This drama is just pure romance and melo with a little spice of history just like The moon that embraced the sun for example.

Well, it is based on real history. Maybe some of the plot wasn't real, but still a piece of reality.
Most of sageuk drama are piece of history rewritten to make it fun for the audience to watch .. so it was not the history part that made it predictable and boring to me .. it's the plot of a man coming back from inevitable death to get revenge and fight over the girl he liked as a child that made it painful to watch.

I picked this show randomly from dramacool homepage and I've never felt this lucky lol .. I feel specially glad to see Junpei again .. I still remember him from Hana kimi and Highschool debut .. I haven't seen him in a while .. he looks super cute in here and his acting has improved a looot !!

Shut up flower boy band is such a hidden gem honestly .. It didn't have that much heavy plot , just a slice of life, and that's exactly what made it enjoyable to me .. I loved watching a bunch of reckless young boys trying to make their path into life.

I think I watch too much amazing chinese historical dramas that I find this so simple and not that engaging..…
Well I think you should consider the time order too .. do not forget this drama is 9 years old and things evolves fast in term of drama production.

I like historical cdrama too. their themes are original and the political plays are always on point .. but most of time they drag too much and events become redundants imo.

Anyways, if you want to watch a real historical kdrama go for Six Flying Dragons .. never seen a perfectly written sageuk in my life. I am sure you are going to enjoy it

The reason why I give this drama a bad rating is its lack of originality .. it felt like copying pieces from old sageuk and putting them into one work .. Everythign was a déja-vu for me. It felt so boring and predictable .. I couldn't go past the 8th episode.

Other than that, the acting was nice I loved specially the prince child actor .. he's done an amazing job !

Wouldnt recommend. Really draggy, a lot of talks and bullshit. Characters are absolutely inconsistent, firstly…
I agree .. I watched it last year when it was airing and found myself dropping it at the 10th episodes .. it was promising at first then suddenly turned into a mess around the 8th episode . Today I came across it again here and to my surprise I found it well rated. hmm .. maybe SF6 made my standards of sageuk higher than others ?

There is a difference between giving advice and belittling people. It was the way he was dropping these advices that was toxic. Not everyone can endure a destructive criticism. He should be more considerate to the mental state of his interlocutor. I agree with him that SamSan tech founders are lacking business skills !! But there is always a moderate way to explain things. The only time I remember him being "considerate" is when he found himself loosing DoSan services after his long toxic speech.
Also Dosan was not annoyed by his advices !!! he was "HURT" .. But well that's why the world is full of bullies and suicide cases .. people do not know when to draw line between toxicity and leadership.

I don't see toxicity. The second male lead just says the truth and it encourages the growth of Smasan Tech.
mention one harsh thing that Jipyeong said and helped Samsan tech to grow

Han Ji Pyung deserves all the support. I mean, he is the adult Samssn Tech needs. Sometimes the truth hurts but…
I think the one having insecurities is Jipyeong not Dosan, otherwise how do you explain him irrationally shouting at Dosan at every occasion and belittling his capabilities since the start of the drama ?!! Jipyeong when he first met Dosan judged him to be worthless .. because worthness to him is measured by money.. later he was clearly pissed off when DoSan helped DalMi unconditionally as an act of kindness .. and ended up to be more helpful and useful to Dalmi than him .. as a defense to his "insecurity" he went soooo far with insulting and "bullying" him .. one remarkable phrase he said "If I were you, I would repay ChulSan and YoungSan for the past two years"!! that was an unnecessary comment , utterly rude to be honest.
DoSan's insecurities you are referring too is what is making the couple complete .. he is shy and lack self-esteem .. and that's where Dalmi finds her strength .. she is a person who is able to put someone's ideas into execution which what Dosan needs .. and DoSan is entrusting her for his company and fully supportive regardless what decision she takes which what DalMi needs in life.

were you sleeping on Nokdu flower?! that sageuk really relieved my 3 year long yearning for a good sageuk
AAAAAHH My baaad !! I thought you were referring to the Tale of nokdu with the guy crossdressing lol . Yeaaah ... I watched the 4 first episodes of Nokdu Flower and I sensed the potential !! I just got busy with life shortly afterward and forgot to go back watching it .. I need to give it a shot now that I am in the mood of kdrama again ..
