did you miss the part where the whole reason HJ was trying to please his father was all to protect his mom? he was worried she would have a hard time or worse be disowned.. besides, he did have a mind of his own, it is what led him to pursue acting & singing in the first place, only after his mom seemed "at risk" did he go back to the company for her, until she realized (thanks to SangEun) that her son would live a happier life being set free & she finally stood up to her husband / his father..
as for chemistry, what you perceive is ~subjective, sorry you couldn't feel it or acknowledge the positives in the story.. that's just life ♡
I wish they didn't follow the usual trope of throwing the SML and SFL together. As usual, it feels too forced...
Same, they could've even mixed it up a bit, ie: ex JiEun with manager JungHwan as they begin working together for HaeJin, who starts seeing GwangNam differently after finally getting to hear him sing, lol ♡
oh btw - HOW do these ppl look HALF their real-life ages?! *o* I seriously thought they were actual teens like ppl born in late-2000s but they're early-90s born?! whaat!! all in their late-20s! the lead LSO seemed 14ish, KYS abt 14-16, & CCY 16-18ish haha while GWJ had such upbeat vibes? he felt he could be anywhere from 16-to-early-20s ~ & ironically he's the actual youngest of the four! looking fwd to more w/them.. ☆☆☆☆
the "OT3 please" vibes were strong with this story lol I just find it so difficult when writers break my heart like that by making someone so left out & alone, arrghh.. x.x

I did read your cmt & you are repeating your question which I said doesn't need an answer lol some ppl just like each other no justifications needed (plus there's always the concept that the ppl in love see things you don't or couldn't understand or agree with ie how ppl like someone may be beyond explanation) then again technically all written characters are indeed basically "programmed" to do & feel how the writers want & as feelings can be that inexplicable in "real life" it does not count as a "plothole" - that's just how it is ♡
perhaps one day you may even find yourself with such similar feelings & also not being able to pin down any particular reasons either, OR you'll hear that from another abt someone you like "but why tho? what is so special abt them?" & even after you try & explain they'll be like "nope, still don't see it.." lol ;P
