Curious to how Italians felt about the first scene with the Italian mafia :) please share your thoughts.
It made me laugh, because I'm not used to hearing italian in dramas. The lines were a bit unnatural, but the actors spoke fluent italian, so that's good. Maybe, too much swearing for no reason and the random mentioning of gelato made me lol Why would a mafia boss say that? XD It's a scene so full of stereotypes that it's funny. I even showed it to my sister and we laughed together. On a serious note, mafia is still a big problem in Italy and it's not a topic that is treated lightheartedly here. People are risking and losing their life everyday to fight against these criminal organizations.
I'm reading the comments and I don't understand. I know we were all waiting for this drama to come but did you…
It's just the first episode. There's not much to say yet. I only know that my expectations were very high and I loved the first episode. I found the scene with the italian boss a bit cringey, but that might be because I'm italian and a bit tired of the trope, but I digress... it's a difficult topic to talk about.
I loved everything else though. I personally don't care about how unrealistic the action scenes might be because I'm watching this for the love stories and relationships in general, so the thing I care about the most is the chemistry between the characters and the acting. I loved every interaction between Kinn and Porsche and also between Porsche and his brother Chay.
Everyone was credible and deep into their character, I didn't see any bad acting. The cinematography and production are great. It's really promising. If you can't understand why other people liked it, I don't know how someone can be disappointed.
People have been waiting for this for a long time and it's normal that everyone is really excited and kinda speechless, and it doesn't make their opinions any less valid. I know I still can't put into words what I think because I'm just so happy that it's finally airing and that it lived up to my expectations 100%.
I'm so happy things went well and this masterpiece could see the light of day. We're so lucky! It makes me so sad to think that this series might've never been produced. Everyone did their best and it paid off. They really believed in this project and it shows. And I'm so proud of the cast <3
The relationships depicted don’t have healthy dynamics, but I’m glad there’s finally some character development. Overall, I’m enjoying the series, but I have to overlook quite a few things. Zee, NuNew and Poppy keep me watching. I also think that Syn is adorable.
What I don’t like about this series is that it makes it seem like people can change their sexuality if they want to, and that’s not how it works. It reinforces the idea that lgbtq+ people choose not to be straight/cis, but they could be if they wanted to. Liking people regardless of their gender is a sexuality, not a mindset that you gain from being open-minded. Yes, sexuality is fluid and it can change over time, but you can’t change it voluntarily (nor force someone to).
