Barth: I’m not God’s favored son. Tanrak: I’m not God’s favored son, either. What devastates me about this…
Giving you the biggest hug because you summed it up beautifully once again!
As a gay, Christian man in his mid 30s, that moment in the bathhouse was beautifully written, captured, and performed. And the music!! I’m a musical person so it captured the moment of that scene in a way that is indescribable.
“I’m not God’s favorite son” broke me because that’s how I felt and whew the depression that came with having that mindset. 😮💨
Anyway, I just appreciate that every episode so far has given us layers to the harsh reality of faith, sexuality and the freedom to be true to ourself. I’m reminded of the film “Latter Days” that came out in 2003. Highly recommend watching if you haven’t seen but it was the first film that really got to my anxious heart about my own struggles with faith and sexuality.
Anyway, thank you for this review! See you next week! 💙
Oh the way my heart shattered hearing Barth said that and then Tankrak coming to terms with what he was feeling in that moment.
P’Aof has done it again.
I was crying yet again for Tanrak because I was once again reminded of my youth and being a Christian and having that “friend” who I saw more as a friend, but then enter the opposite sex and all those feelings of jealousy, hurt, confusion, fear and unrest just came in waves.
But again with that one sentence, “I’m not God’s favorite son”. What a moment.
This is such a milestone of a series and I’m beyond grateful that watching it has opened doors to others to talk about their experiences with sexuality and faith.
I’m so not ready for this to end in three more episodes but I’m thankful that this show is here and available.
Thank you to Gemini and Fourth for another spectacular performance. Especially Fourth as Tanrak. 😭💙
The cruelest thing about this show is that it almost never says THIS IS SIN out loud. It just lines things up,…
And you hit the nail on the head once again! Especially on the riddle! Barth’s answer resonated to my very core because it is the absolute truth. As someone who grew up in the church, the believer is definitely the one who lies, while the lost one has nothing to lose by always telling the truth. Being gay and a Christian is such an impossible concept but here I am, despite the Church being what it is today.
I said this about Fourth numerous times in previous shows I’ve watched him in but throughout episode 2, his facial expressions is an absolute masterclass of a performance.
And in reality, Fourth doesn’t haven’t to try hard at all to tap into his character’s emotions, especially having lost his father last year. So incredibly amazed by him!
But let’s dive in briefly:
Barth, you are a tease as Tankrak said. And I’m not sure if you’re aware of your actions but it definitely has an effect.
Tanrak! Oh my lil bro. When it comes to following your faith but doing your absolute best to suppress that side of you, is absolute torture.
Those last five minutes I wanted to cry for Tanrak because I have been there myself growing up in the church.
What a powerful sequence and that music!! Chills!!!
P’Aof said: Y’all wanted angst? How about physiological angst and turmoil to end the episode!
So good!! Favorite episode and depiction on faith and suppression of feelings.
Many say it was bad. Was it rushed? Or not? How did you see it? I was really hyped for it so I ask
It was the right pacing for me. I haven’t read the novel being from the US. But all the emotions were portrayed correctly in my eyes as a gay man who lived this life growing up. The color grading is that of the same kind of grading that was used in the 90s so I won’t fault the art director in that sense.
But this series is definitely geared to those who are in the LGBTQIA+ community who still has faith in God or still questioning or like Barth, completely lost their faith but someone like Tanrak was there for them.
I’m not sure how many men on here are watching this series currently but for me, that first episode set the tone.
From that opening scripture to that opening scene about the Marriage Equality Act passing in Thailand to going back 30 years in the past and then seeing the struggle of one who lost their faith and the other who has faith.
There’s so much to unpack here and I’m just over the moon of how great GeminiFourth has performed their roles already.
Honestly as someone growing up with familial trauma, I can easily say everyone’s acceptance and making peace…
This! Great point of view! Not too many people have the mindset of grace and understanding especially on familial trauma from the outside looking in.This was a work in progress, that you see in Solar since the car accident after the first episode. So I agree this was no sudden thing with the resolution. I appreciate you putting your thoughts out there about this.
Right off the bat, this is another favorite series!!AlmondProgress, it’s so good to see you again! Cinematography is absolutely nostalgic and beautiful! All the teens have won me over especially the twins, Augar and August.Progress as Ko is not overacting. He’s acting like any incoming sophomore that is an extrovert would and if I’m not mistaken this is set in 1999-2000 (due to the past montage of Ko, Augar and August, growing up in school), so this is very on point with how teenagers were back then. That and the lack of smartphones and boys reading manga, was a huge tell too. 😅Almond as Ko, is perfect. Paul as Achi, absolutely cuteness aggression!! There’s just something about high school BLs that I love. Even though I only started watching BLs two years ago, it’s nostalgia that brings me back especially when it’s set in a time I could relate to.I look forward to smiling, laughing and for sure cry at some point because I know it’s going to happen, but great first episode!
Growing up with a single mother raising seven kids by herself, I completely understood the mother. That absolutely broke me. Well done to the actress who portrayed her.
The father, I will understand his actions but just like Solar with his original thought process when his father ran away from him the first time upon seeing him again, he definitely deserved to get that tackle! I was like, “Yeah Solar, tackle him!”. And then I think about Sun, he loved his father so much. So when Sun called his father his hero, that was from the lens of how Sun always seen his father before the accident. It makes sense.
Still doesn’t make it right for the father to not be there for him, even from a distance.
This episode will be a favorite because we got the full picture of Sun/Solar’s family.
From the OST, to that stunning intro sequence, what an absolutely captivating first episode!
Bromance, my foot!
All jokes aside, GMMTV has a masterpiece with this series!
The first 10/10 because of SkyNani’s performance and their chemistry! Sea being a phenomenal featured actor and giving us a great performance, the absolute budget with all the CGI elements, the background music (I was so emotional because of it), the cinematography is top tier as well!
This is a new favorite that I will definitely rewatch again! I’m just sad that the series is so short! 😭
Pete, I know it was you! What a shitty thing to do! First embezzlement then leaking a video just to up your chances to get with Rome if Raffy ends up with Jack. That’s some demented logic. Please let him be exposed in next week’s episode! I can’t deal with him anymore.
Gawin and his tears 😭(Ever since Not Me, he’s just gorgeous in heartbreak)
Boston!! Who is this imposter?! But well done for not taking advantage of someone drunk.
Gameplay is finally here!
Truly was right to call this episode “The Climax”.

See you all next Saturday!
The day has arrived!!!
VPN is set, YouTube is opened, waiting with hundreds of others and so excited!!!
Can’t believe in my two years of watching BLs now, this is the series that will wreck me in the best way.
Who else here is gay and also has a strong belief in God?
Let’s chat about our thoughts throughout this series.
And GeminiFourth, welcome back!!!
That opening scene will forever be iconic!!
TayNew!!! it’s so good to see you back on my screen!!
Mond is hilarious!! “That bitch”
Tui is a great addition!
So much hilarity!!!
Great first episode!!
Makes me feel so nostalgic about the year 2000. 😭😭😭
Another great episode!

Also the runtime is perfect! I’m so invested!!
Absolutely well done GMMTV!
And Ohm as Win was hot! Well done Nick! Mark looked stunning!!
And now Rome needs to heal and Raffy chases. Tua needs to heal and Arnold chases. I love this dynamic!
JackDean oof, I think they will end up like BostonNick but this is EarthMix, no way they would want to separate.
Can’t believe we’re now at the final two episodes!
Gawin and his tears 😭(Ever since Not Me, he’s just gorgeous in heartbreak)
Boston!! Who is this imposter?! But well done for not taking advantage of someone drunk.
