I don't think coldness and a business attitude or warmth and love should be a gender thing in marriage. If someone…
The problem I have with the female lead character especially this far into the drama is that she's been built up to be pretty much perfect. We haven't seen a moment of real weakness or vulnerability which is very unrealistic for humans, she's not some deity. Because of this she gives a holier than thou aura and attitude, everyone including both male and a lot of females are falling over themselves for her. While I sympathize with her tragic past, she's not the only one that has ever been wronged or used so I don't understand why she's not even giving an inch to anyone else or a chance of opening her heart, especially the crown prince. She says she's leery because he's so deceptive and could eventually use her in the future and yet she wants to use him for his short duration of his mortality which I find extremely hypocritical. I'm having a hard time staying with this drama because I actually have gotten to the point where I have a hard time rooting for such a selfish and judgemental person. Not in judging the "bad" characters but the push and pull with the crown prince where now he seems pathetic to me instead of romantic or endearing. They seem to have a really dysfunctional relationship :/
Hope this is true!!!! Princess Zhaoyang (Zhao Yang Gong Zhu) drama has passed review and got the license to air soon. It will air on the Bilibili streaming platform.
The three musketeers better make it to the end and have a long fruitful lives & everlasting friendships. And what the heck is up w/ the older ladies (4th aunt and best friend of murdered aunt) "sorry, not sorry" mantra. Blatantly lying to our heroes faces and worried about their own sorry asses, I was really hoping for at least one bitch slap :/
Zhang Kai Ying as A Sheng (FL's junior) is so stunning and I like her acting. I hope she and Riley Wang's character have a HE or at least open ended. I'm almost more invested in their dynamics and relationship than the leads.
I'm one of those that's nearing the end but what I do know even now is that I really want to give props to the stellar supporting cast. I think the leads surpassed most viewers expectations and everyone else has met their potential or more in their roles (so thankful that many of them are getting the deserved recognition and new fans). Like a frame completing a painting, the ensemble pushed the storytelling and this drama to new heights. Everyone from the child actors, the pig butcher troop, the second and third couples, the crazy yet charismatic brothers and even all the losers and villains, this was truly a group effort and accolades deserved all around. And Mr. director...I'm keeping an eye on you, well done!
So I'm re-watching some of Tian Xi Wei's older dramas that I liked while waiting/dealing through the 1 episode stretch and it's a bit comforting to revisit some of her filmography and journey. If you haven't watched already, New Life Begins (with Bai Jing Ting) and Wrong Carriage Right Groom (with Ao Rui Peng) are pretty entertaining. Neither are up to Pursuit of Jade caliber but they both show how amazing her chemistry is with top notch male actors. I'm not including Moonlit Reunion (w/Xu Kai) or Guardians of Dafeng (w/Dylan Wang) because they're more recent but our girl is on fire! I also realized I haven't seen Romance on the Farm w/ Joseph Zeng (probably because he's not one of my favorite actors), anyone have thoughts or opinions on that drama, is it worth a watch?
