It was like repeated and violent kicks to the stomach with limited relief, but relief nonetheless. I'm glad I watched it but you are correct that it was both brutal and hopeful.

It wasn't a cliffhanger but they kinda left us in a weird place, albeit not a bad one.This would definitely benefit from a second season or additional special episodes.

I think it makes more sense as you learn more about them. I also think they needed more episodes to let the story breathe. There are some rushed moments due to the length. That said I loved this one!

Also, I have so many adults adulting BL recommendations! I always start with My Personal Weatherman, which I love. After that, my current recommended (finished) BLs: Life in Smokey Blue, Innocent, Ossan's Love, Our Dining Table, Old Fashioned Cupcake, and HIStory 3: Trapped.

This needs another season because it felt unfinished. Otherwise I liked it.

They are both very handsome, for sure. But if the baseline is heavy makeup like many Thai BLs they might seem unadorned in comparison. Personally, I'd say effortlessly sexy instead!

I agree that they arent necessarily the prototypical glossy BL beauties we've been trained to crave. I'm an old heifer that likes a little seasoning on her meat, so for me Ryu in particular is a tall glass of water. And while I do love a beautifully made up face with full rosy lips, I also like naturally sexy faces, which is how I view these two.

I find the visuals of the mains to be somewhat unusual for BL but also completely drawing me in. Their MDL pics are very beautiful (as expected), but there's something more natural and enticing to me about how both of them are styled in the series.

Despite his despicable behavior, I was also team Lu Feng.
