I wanted to read the novel after I saw the drama but since that seems to not be anytime in the near future, I went ahead and read the novel. To answer your other questions, Mo Ran did eventually find out that Chu Wenning is Xue Sisi and if I remember correctly he was under the control of the flower in both lives. They do find out about Shi Mie but it doesn't happen until much later in the book

Yes it is. There is a lot of angst and heartbreak along the way but happy in the end.
I just came in here to see if there are people being Sinophobic and anti-China, I can spot too many Pretty much…
Most people on here are not angry at China as a country but rather disappointed by the new laws put forward by the government, that is two completely different things. If the people on this page were sinophobic, I don't think they would be here anticipating the release of a Chinese drama.
Tried watching this the first time around and couldn't get past episode 13. Started watching it again months later from the beginning and OMG, completely worth the time and extra hours once I got past episode 13. It was AMAZING!!!
Even the romance can't keep me entertained (and I'm a sucker for romance so it says a lot) I don't think it's…
I would like to tell you that it's worth it to finish the other episodes but it really isn't. I finished it in the hopes that it would get better but it actually got worse or at the very least, more of the same. I too liked her interactions with her friends but there were fewer of those interactions and a lot less banter between them. I'm just disappointed and probably need to binge watch some other drama to fill the void this one left behind.

I just completed the drama a few minutes ago and I came here trying to find if anyone was able to put into words why I felt so unmoved by a drama that was so promising and one I was looking forward to for months. I feel like you, it is lacking something but I cannot figure out what. My first guess is the directing, which is strange because the director brought us something as good as, "My Love From The Star". Maybe the screenwriter? I don't think it was the acting because they all did a great job. The female lead I've seen in many dramas over the years including one of my favourites, "Moonlight Drawn By Clouds". I think for me it seemed that no one did anything awe inspiring be it good or bad, not the ML, the FL, the gods, the princes or the king. All their decisions, plans and actions seemed half baked. And way too much time was spent showing the FL painting the royal portrait THREE times when that time could have been spent convincing the viewers why the leads love each other, other than the fact that Sam Shin made them soulmates. Half the reason I wanted to watch this drama was because of the romance and even that seemed to be forced. I'm just sad because there aren't too many historical fantasy kdramas and I was really hoping that this one would keep me satiated until the next but it won't.
