Does anyone know what was the last word he get inside the mooncake (that is mooncake right?) during ep 16? Why…
I can't read it either but I'm guessing it got something to do with the mother cursing him in the scene before. That's why Weiwei comforts him in the way she does. But then the subtitles are really bad, so... idk... meh.
not sure if this needs to be pointed out but: the whole show consists of foreigners. i think you rather mean that…
Btw, it was pointed out in EP2 that two of the judges are old school and therefore have different opinions on judging. Which doesn't go well with the modern more flashy style. In my opinion, the show either casted them by mistake or on purpose. Second reason makes more sense, cause, the more disagreement, the more the show is bein talked about and they can reach more people with their advertisements...

is there gonna be a modern time version of the drama in the future or is this one the last season ?
There is a modern part in season 2. But the overall series is meant to be costume genre. And I think season 3 is the last one. Not sure a 4th season would survive, plot and viewership wise. I love the series but if you make season after season just to milk the cash cow some more... it usually lowers the quality a lot.
Finally! Been waitin forever for this one. Where's the click button... >_> Hopefully they get their final happy ending, with this being the third lifetime (which is the magic number in chinese drama).
This gem really needs a minimum rating of 8.5. There is barely any CGI which makes this absolutely fantastic.…
I just realized. There is almost no scene where they sit together and eat. Nowadays you got that at least twice in every episode of a drama. But nuthin here so far. One more item proving they are focusing on the important stuff. XD

Please don't rate the drama without having watched at least a third of the 42 episodes. Due to its length and style, the buildup takes a while. Imagine giving Lord of the Rings a rating based on its first 15 minutes. Simply makes no sense.
Haven't started it but looking at all the clips it does remind of 2000s martial arts dramas. Which is interesting…
so true, darling. I wish there were more Nirvana in Fire or even Love and Destiny. both, male MC and male lead, were a feast for the eyes. i m even ok with a so so storyline. and also almost no CGI, like in this series, as long as i get real faces.

one very refreshing fact: no overly handsome/beautiful actors. nowadays you can't watch a drama without an abundance of baby faces. in this drama, they chose "mature" actors with more of a common face which I like a lot. also, the costumes are quite different from the usual too. i guess they are sticking to north chinese / mongol clothing. :D
I'll keep watching it. Same as Condor Heroes and other classics, the setup for the main plot is quite long and I wanna see baby boy in young adult form. ^__^"
I love the use of actual landscape instead of the usual green screen but the style it has been filmed in and some other things are very 2000's. Even the opening is... well... old-school. Maybe after spending travel money and the like they didn't have enough left for other departments?
I don't recommend this for people who are new to martial arts dramas. It's rather something to be enjoyed by people who know old-school dramas.
Weinstein, one of the biggest film moguls, has been assaulting women, mostely actresses, for about 30 years. you can read this timeline article for the full event, starting in 2017, that landed him in prison: https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-41594672

One episode is only 7 min long, not counting intro and outro.
Also, the speed with which episodes get released is like Mach-4. XD
