These writers… It should be criminal to waste such good actors on such trash. Recycle every trope or even just a cute scene that worked in another drama. So annoying when the show had such potential. These writers think their viewers are complete morons. And well, maybe I am for watching that and expecting anything else at this point.

It stopped being a rom com episodes ago.

Really having a hard time finding this drama comedic. So much suffering for sooooo long.

It’s a completely different translation from the original one. Almost every phrase is different. One example: When I originally watched, the king promised to make bibimbap every morning. New translation he says “mixed rice” instead of the word bibimbap. It’s as different as the translations for Mr. Queen on Netflix and Viki. It hasn’t changed since then, so the original translation (which I much preferred to the current one) must have just been temporary. I didn’t change any settings.

It was the English subs and they definitely changed from last week when I watched. I’m 100% sure.

Right? I thought for sure that the book would stay in the past and she would return with the page. The book ending up in the future makes zero sense.

I totally agree. For me, figuring out how they will manage the ending is a BIG part of how I enjoy these silly time slip dramas. Just a wink wink, it doesn’t matter explanation? It’s insulting. What kept me watching was that mystery and they just didn’t bother with explaining. So weak. Why is every ending soooooo weak?

What is with the changing subtitles on Netflix? I rewatched Ep. 10 before finishing the series and noticed that almost every single line had been changed from the translation I originally read when I first watched it. Anyone know why it would change so substantially?

Also possible that they just disagree with you about the intent. Since this is just your opinion.

I totally agree that she should have been considering the purge dilema a lot sooner. I’ve been underwhelmed by their so called “chemistry” thus far, I think just due to bad writing. The king’s 180 feels unearned. He still seems to have all of his same violent impulses whenever challenged, he’s just fallen in love hard - For some reason. And our heroic chef can diagnose and cure anorexia with a plating change. Priorities, writers!

The king miraculously becoming a different person does not = good character development. I personally haven’t been moved by the interactions between the leads. You clearly have. Congrats.

If they had put half as much effort into character development as they did with food tasting animations, this could have really been something.

HOW does Boys Over Flowers fit into that top 5? I get the others, but wow.

He was crushing on her anyway, and she was trying to save his life. were really upset about boundaries here? come on.

Absolutely shocked when I saw this rating. This movie was such a captivating dark comedy. I get that not everyone has the same sense of humor, but this rating is shameful.
