One thing The Double did very well was giving back story to the villains. You might hate their action but you know why they are doing it

Yes they really complement each other very well and helped each other equally.

With some drama I’m always waiting for something to happen and not able to enjoy the watching experience but here I’m loving every ep and just enjoying every little thing despite having all these outstanding questions.

Also when she teased him about getting a sister in law soon, he looked like he was swallowing ash 😂

Indeed he said she seems same but difference. I think she was more free spirited in her interaction with him previously, but having survived near death experience, is now more calculative and smarter.

Yeah, many a show have started well but floundered toward the end. So far the plotting/pacing of this has been very assured, so I’m cautiously optimistic.

Haha true, but it does add extra frisson to the viewing experience I guess. One thing I like about this drama is it’s very good at letting us enjoy what’s currently happening but also laying the groundwork for future anticipation.

I haven’t watched Go Ahead, but the kids in ep1 of Family by Choice were so good (and tragic), I didn’t want to transition to their adult self.

My interpretation based on episodes so far is she interacted with the SML (who is a marquis) under the guise of her maid Meimei. As he was blind at that point, he didn’t actually know how she looked like.

There’s a thread below about her connection to the official who frames ML’s teacher and bribed their grandfather, so I guess we’ll be entering the palace intrigue phase of the story soon.

And I absolutely agree about the slow burn romance, to me romance is not only a destination but a journey. I love watching their everyday interaction already.

You can literally see him dying a little bit more inside everytime someone congratulated him on officially joining the family or being brother sister with FL 😂

This was me too. First time watching Ren Min as I avoided TLP after reading some reviews and watching the trailer on Netflix, so she’s a complete revelation to me here

It’s there when FL tricked ML out of his study seclusion to mother him, it’s there when she drunk hugged him, when she was so happy for him on coming first in the exam or when she teased him about getting a sister in law soon 😎

Even without romance the chemistry is already amazing.

We still don’t have full detail on what happened between them, but surviving a murder attempt and falling from cliff would have been traumatic for anyone
