What happened in the novel?

Does anyone find the scene time for Shumo’s death a bit excessive? Maybe if he’s the trusted sidekick of the ML who died at the end, but this is a side character of a supporting character, not even 10ep in, I havent even had time to form any emotional attachment.

The grandma (and her interaction with FL) is a real highlight in this drama. I thought she’s gonna borderline cark it in the early eps, but from the opening credit, looks like she’s gonna survive till the end lol.

How is it comparing to source material ? Have they change/drop much? 32 eps seem short, I’m wondering is it due to thin source material or possibly they rushing it out to capitalise on WJY current popularity.
