So, here's the thing. I noticed something about this one and the ancient love poetry (which by the way, is the…
You know how TJC was so active in getting the best wig shape for XL in LYF? I wish the hair and makeup team put in as much care for the characters here. Not only are some male wigs just unflattering (and spare me the “this is what they ALL wear talk, I’ve watched Cdrama for decades and have seen wigs with different hairline to suit different face shapes, and this show is just negligent), but makeup, too, isn’t the best. I feel like this production didn’t put as much effort into making their characters look GOOD.
I think LYF and MJTY really spoiled me by setting the bar pretty high.
Well if you notice in ep.1 when lusi is a phoenix queen her voice is much more mature, then when she is a ghost…
I know she will change her voice for various stages of her role. You really don’t need to be telling me how to watch the show, I’m a big fan of ZLS. People can like ZLS and still not like the baby voice she’s doing and THAT IS OKAY.

Doesn’t matter what the director wanted her to do. The voice and the talk is still grating. ZLS’s usually fantastic, but I find that whenever she tries to make her voice younger for the character, it just comes off grating (to me). Why bother blaming anyone? I’m not looking to spread hate. Just stating my opinion here, just like everyone else.
ZLS does many things right. Baby voice and manner of speech… I wish she’d do it a bit differently.

And people who are annoyed by that kind of voice will be annoyed by that voice. People have differing opinions and differing preferences, and that’s okay.
Not everyone is going to like everything about a drama or someone’s favorite.
On ep 6 now. It gets better with each episode, and I’m fully invested in the story.
The only complaint I have, like many already mentioned, is some of the CGI, the obvious green screen, some of the set design that just looks poorly built and… ZLS’s voice when she’s reborn. Is she speaking in the nasal baby talk because her character is supposed to be young and naive? This is an S+ drama, but the CGI makes it seem like it’s not. 😮💨
Otherwise, I am loving the story so far. There’s definitely more good than bad in this drama, but even while I’m enjoying the drama, I can’t help but be a bit disappointed by the quality. Is it the Asian in me wanting perfection? 😫
And for the people on the defensive, I think the many of us complaining here are those who expected so much more from such stellar team.
People are entitled to their opinions. Let’s just remember to be respectful. Let us not attack the actors or each other here. People are allowed to have different opinions or be disappointed when expectations fall short.
I bumped into you in some other board sometime back.I see some unusual watches on your list that I clicked with…
I’m on ep 34 of TTEOM and ep 6 of Love is Sweet. I really enjoyed them, but paused for a bit for whatever reason.
I did not enjoy Twenty One- Twenty Five and dropped after episode one because of the actress’s yelling of all of her lines. Is this something you enjoyed?
Thank you for reminding me about Age of Innocence! It’s been on my list of dramas to watch forever!
Is the translation correct?
