It takes a very good actor to portray a psychopath character without it seeming robotic. Seo yeji in IONTBO and Dami in ittaewon class are sme examples. The key is to give them personality traits beyond 'emotionless' which i didn't see in this drama. I can't think of a single another word to describe this FLs personality. Idk if it was just because of the writing or acting. Sucha shame

FL abuses ML a lot. Imagine if the genders were reversed? I get that he's supposed to be immortal or whatever but this just wasn't it. Why would you fall in love with someone who beats you up any chance they get. I especially hate that it was used for comedic purposes. Let's leave these kinds of things in the past please 🙏

There's no way the legendary kim eun sook wrote this drama. The emotional depth just isn't there in any of the characters

I kinda wish jiyoung was also learning traditional cooking methods or dishes and it wasn't just one sided of her introducing french cooking and them being impressed. I get that she's a very good chef but there's always room to improve and something new to learn from others as well

I know its supposed to be about food but i didn't realize it would be SO MUCH about food. The saying name of foreign dish > them mispronouncing name of the dish > making delightful expression while eating > raving about it like gordon fucking ramsey or whatever routine is getting tedious. We get it already

Yeah its like dangling a carrot in our faces only to pull it away again and again. In my case, it was a carrot that i didn't even want but still kept hitting me in the face

As for the romance, i don't understand what they were even trying to do. I would've liked it as just a professional admiration or one sided puppy love from hyomin but they kept dropping hints that it might become mutual but then pull away a few minutes later. That was iffy. Like either just be colleagues or date, don't be in a limbo. That's worse. As a viewer i was pissed off since it made the show and the debate around it to only be about "will they won't they". Like i would come to the comments section to discuss the case that was presented in the episode but all the comments would be about "look how seok hoon looked at her though my heart skipped a beat 💓" Give it a rest. Not all kdramas need to have a romance

Started of so good but fell off in the second half. Its strongest parts came in the court room while debating cases. 2nd half had less of that, more of life lessons or whatever but most fell flat. My favorite episode was the fledgling artist plagiarism case

The last episode was so preachy. All characters have different opinions on love but they could've expressed them in like 50 words instead of 200 like they're trying to reach the wordcount on an essay. Going on and on and on without a point weakens the impact. I still don't understand what exactly they were even trying to say

Honestly, if the kids' big sister had called seok hoon instead of hyomin, he would've just taken the kids himself without inviting hyomin. He's just a fan of kids and dogs. He's never voluntarily made an effort to spend alone time with hyomin, she's the one following him around

There will be no romance between seok hoon and hyo min. Watch the youtube interview by netflix with byunjae and jonathan. Jinwook talks about how the director did not want jinwook's character to look at hyo min with romance eyes but more professional way.

Also why is everyone here so obsessed with romance here? Hyomin just has puppy love towards seok hoon which he has not reciprocated at all. Not to mention the power imbalance and age gap is so problematic for a romance here. The actors themselves have 16 year age gap. Even if ML character is younger than the actor, even visually the characters do not look compatible at all

Does anyone else feel like the lighting is off in some scenes? Like sometimes the character expressions aren't even visible cause they're standing in shadowy areas. The MLs office has the worst lighting. He's gonna ruin his eyes being on computer screen in such a dark room

I didn't realize so many of you will have so much to say about my comment. I'd like to discuss some of the points mentioned as well.
1. Women can get pregnant any time they have sex regardless of the menstrual cycle. This is why contraceptives like condoms are urged to be worn during every penetrative sex, not just for the ovulation week.
2. Prenuptial agreements are not very common, lawyer or not.
3. I've already agreed that it was not okay that she had an abortion in secret. If she truly lovedhim, she would have discussed the pregnancy with him regardless of whether they had decided to be childless before.
4. About her having child with someone else, i agree that it would be hurtful for the ML but that doesn't mean it makes her a villain. Maybe she's wasn't ready to have kids when they were married and changed her mind when she got older. Maybe it was a ML who had wanted to be childless when they got married and changed his mind when he got to know she was pregnant. Maybe she didn't know he now wanted kids when she got an abortion, maybe she thought he'd reject her and baby becuase it was unplanned. Again, its all speculation because ITS ONLY BEEN 4 EPISODES AND WE'VE ONLY GOTTEN LIKE 10 MINUTES OF THEIR BACKSTORY. MAYBE ML WAS NOT THE PERFECT HUSBAND EITHER. WE'LL GET TO KNOW IN THE FUTURE EPISODES.
5. I won't address the pro-lifers because I'm a pro-choice person who is exhausted of having the same battle over and over again with them

Ya'll are being really weird here. Its the woman's choice when to have a baby and who she has it with. Just because seok hoon wants a child, she's not obligated to give him one, especially since they decided before marriage that they won't have children. I can agree that she probably shouldn't have hidden an accidental pregnancy from her husband and got an abortion in secret but it doesn't make her a snake just because she moved on with someone else and decided to have a baby with him.

For real. Han-na's anxiety ceased to exist once it became irrelevant to the plot. After that, its just dongju dongju dongju and his injuries. No one else even matters

For real. I've seen several other dramas of jung-se and he killed it in every role, even better than the actually protagonists most times. Which left me wondering why he even chose such a weak script this time?

Someone said this drama is misery porn and they're so right. Dong ju was a character just made to suffer. His childhod was filled with abuse, his boxing career also failed, then his friend was killed and also his pseudo mother. Then he keeps getting hit by cars and hit in the head several times. All episodes were just dongju dangling at the edge of death but making it out alive each time just to suffer again. The villain has a million chances to kill him but he just kept surviving only to make us miserable while watching his misery

Min ju yeong managing to evade the protagonists like a 100 times is the funniest comedy in this show
