So sad to leave the Li family and the in laws. been a good journey. it is ,a drama that i follow when it is still broadcasting, waiting every evening at 8pm. All the couples are perfect matches!!!!
My fav ultimate is the 4th Sister HD and SHZ. the chemistry, the acting, the looks of the couple and of course the story was nice and give a teddy bear fuzzy feel. so heartwarming. I actually quite like the 2nd sister CP. i may rank 1st and 5th together because 1st story was a bit frustrating and 5th i dont fully get their chemistry (maybe the actors are young). i came for WXY and LYX but left liking other couples better. But it is a great drama. and certainly has rewatch value. i do like the costume a lot though. they well portray the song dynasty. the official with hat with long ears, officials with ranking8- 9 wear bluish green, 6-7 wear green, 4-5 wear red and 1-3 wear purple. SHZ is a higher ranking offiicial from DYX ( a scholar score no 1 position will rank around 8th in officer's ranking and no 2/3 (rank 8/9 on officer chart). SHZ is 4th or 5th ranking as he heads kaifengfu (the office that handles the security, civil and criminal cases in the capital city) . Brides of officials wear green (SH, HD and also qiong nu). in song dynasty generals does not have high ranking because song society prefer scholarly effort not military quests.
Wish we do have more scenes of the BIL alliance especially when 4th and 5th came in. and wish the last 6 episodes we see more of HD and SHZ. But i think it is reasonable they are not that involved in LS story because what YX did was super ridiculous after all and honestly if they did go to court and the case is brought to kaifengfu, YX will get a beating and maybe forced to divorce according to the law. on the other hand, YX did save SHZ, HD and the shen family from those bandits. it may be as well that they remain more neutral. and of course like what SHZ says his wife is no 4, so he cant say much hahahaha.....MIL will look for the elder 3 if something happen especially elder sister, so we see No 1 bil more. also CA and FLH are businessman not official , so they are many things that is not appropriate for no 1 &4 will go to NO 2&3. that is the logic i see.
it feels like all the Li ladies married the only son in the family. DYX, CA and SHZ is definitely single child. FLH is only son too. not sure if he has siblings. YX definitely have siblings but he is the the only son from the main wife. very stressful for Li girls hahahaha...

i laughed so hard at that. and i love the look of how he shut his eyes and nod his head when HD seems to conveying message to him silently. it happened a few times over their arc. and today at ep 30 he does that again when HD send that signal of 'i dont have a good feeling about this...can u try controlling them'
actually i come to think about it, him being a judge meeting so many cunning prisoners with lies and schemes, he actually have a good skill of reading ppl. and he is very good at using all sort of torture at the court. no wonder he say to HD, cannot punch his face, must hit where it MIL cannot see. oh boy, that is pretty wild from our judge.
actually it makes absolute sense that no 1-3 sisters are more scheming, while the younger 2 are carefree and cutesy. because the older really learn the hard way seeing what their mum has to go through. their temper, demeanor, scheming is bore out of necessity to protect and save their family and siblings. HD and LS all generally less involved in the earlier episodes because they are more protected and really young prob something like 13, 14 or so when they first arrive at the city.

the guy is counting his own blessings that he doesnt need to go on bended knees, physical ear pulling or bashing...just a few months of push and pull, ie emotional roller coaster, so yes he definitely can see he got the nicest of the sisters. glad the script points it out. but i am very happy that the script remains consistent with the characters of each sisters and their hubby. it will be totally out of character if HD turns too scheming (she remain adorable and sweet yet smart till the end) or make SHZ goes grovelling or puppy like but they maintain his elegance (comes with his coldness) yet give all his gentleness to his wife (he is after all a reverred and respected chief judge). They dont apply the same formula of other couples on another which makes it so interesting.

Honestly the 4th sister arc with SHZ is seriously some of the best romance and story i watched in this recent few years. The recent full series of Blossoms is also good of course. Couples trusting each other and work with each other. For a while after 26 i was expecting some scheming from HD to get an upper hand in the relationship. and it will be a little odd taste after 8-9episode of direct, honest relationship. But so happy they play it to the point that this couple does not need that. He treasured, loved and respected her, even though he is too straightforward and aloof but she just love him as who he is (upright and unpretentious). SOOOOO happy it was point out that HD is easiest going among the sisters and she just cant stand all the push and pull she need to do to gain that 'upper hand'. it is true that it is not her character. which is so right. healthy relationship should be accepting and loving the person as they are and be honest and be communicative. Watching the HD and SHZ arc is just heartwarming. laughing note: SHZ did realised he got the gentlest among the sisters and he is just so blessed he wasnt tortured for long. he actually felt sorry for the other BILs ahahahahaa....
i rewatched ep 11 to 15 on the 1st sister arc. and i recalled the 3rd sister arc. they are more complicated characters. 1st couple is like deep undercurrent with both of them being highly intelligent and they kinda use their intelligence on each other for a while there, while 3rd has an element of strategizing and trying to outwit each other but like CA says he enjoys those battles of wits with KN most. i mean there is nothing wrong. because each individuals is different and how they treat and view relationship and marriage are different. And this is probably why i love HD arc more than SH and KN. I realised when i watched the first 2 arcs there are times it get too angsty and complicated when we need understand their 'schemes' while HD arc is pure simple sweetness of love albeit some hurdles and difficulties. i think i will enjoy 5th sister too as once again even riots and chaos, these two are put on the table for all to see.
the 5th sister story arc i am building up to look forward too. let's hope we will get a roundtable meeting between mom , sisters and brother in laws to solve all issues again. maybe this time is to resolve how 5th BIL kipnapped the 5th sister. hahahaha.....epic.

1. the jealousy he exhibit was like uncontrollable even grandma and aunt notice. 2. to me SHZ is a very very upright character (the type that does not tolerate grey but want everything black and white and follow law), when he consummate with her, it can only mean he IS treating her as his wife/beloved. if it is not because of the bandit saga, he would not drive her away. It is like he is reminded of how dangerous his job is. t is not about the memory loss or regain. memory loss helps the push forward the relationship because she is needed to take care of him and his workload. that gives them a chance to be together, in each other company and the feeling just develop from there. 3. anyone see the little quirk on his mouth when he told her to leave his cousin room. he is so secretly happy that his little wife cares enough to want to stop the concubine business. again he finds her cute totally. 4. when he saw her return the betrothal gift, our judge is so forlorn he forgot how to open his sstudy's door hahahahaa....i really love the acting by the actor. so smooth and natural. 5. anyone buy that rubbish of platonic relationship prposed by HD....to me, the proposal of half half marriage is a SCHEME. when the Li women got together, everyone need to watch out. hahahahaa....remember 3rd sister says....u need to sweet up to your hubby but u need to slap him hard as well so that he will remember the lesson. hahahahaa....anyone notice...after their talk, she says she is hungry and need to get something to eat and she would not accompany him, he is like forlorn looking and want to go after her...sigh sigh...our judge is a goner when it comes to his wife. the guy is so in love he cant stand to be away from her.

SH and HD (1st and 4th) character is more similar. they are generally more gentle and quiet, ladylike. just that big sister is studious and 4th is more cutesy. but they are generally calmer. 2nd and 5th is the same...hot chilli pepper spices all in...poof one mouthful poof on fire, they can bash up their hubbies. KN 3rd sister is intelligent in a more scheming way. even the hubbies they married is similar...1st and 4th to officials, 2nd and 5th to very naughty active men (not very intelligent too). kn and her hubby is perfect match too. both super scheming...constantly check mating each other. all perfect match!!!!

At first i thought, oh no...memory loss troupe...what a bummer. but now i think it is necessary. i honestly think SHZ character is really what he is like after his memory loss. honest, straight but kind underneath and has a sweet tooth. i think after the death of his sister and his own mother hating him and cursing him saying he does not deserve to have a family, wife and children, he closed up and put a cold aloof stoic front. to me, the head bang brings out the original him. and that is why he can respond to haode. if the plot has his 'stay 10 foot away from me' front, it will be very very difficult even for her near him (even within his vicinity}, considering hehas areally busy schedule as a judge and comes home still working till midnight in his study. guess the memory loss is needed to push the story forward. he lost part of his memory but not his character, intelligence and astuteness in reading ppl.
