Love this review, so on point about its strengths and weaknesses! Also no expectation watcher here and was just wowed at how this raved about IP turned out to be this slop. I did rate it higher than you though because anything I finish I give it a minimum of 6. But everything you said is how I felt.

I think it’s definitely not worth 8.7!

It’s amazing to me how badly reviewers have rated this (and rightly so) and how so many of the comments are also negative and yet the rating is still 8.7??? Like never, how can this mediocre piece possibly be rated so high?!

Is the latest cohort watching this all Liu Yu Ning fans lol? This was such a good series, especially on rewatch, yet the latest comments all seem to be complaints.
P.S. I like LYN too but if you’re only here for him then you won’t be able to enjoy this drama to its fullest

Ao Rui Peng has got me crushing on him now! I first watched him in The Blood of Youth (which is an awesome series) but he hits differently in CD and MM.

I find many of Li Xians characters I’d be happy marrying 😂, he chooses them well. Jiang Chang Yang gives me same marriage material vibes as Ashile Sun in The Long Ballad, they both have that respect for the FL as well as intelligence to truly understand their partner

I think I forgot s1 and also thought he was an uncle, it’s his looks for me. His daughter looks about the same age as the emperor 😂
