I almost wonder whether the ugly aesthetics is purposeful to make fun of the whole xian xia genre. I mean, it’s pretty bad. They are both so gorgeous but with his wig and her costumes - you wouldn’t know it. Also, what is up with Wang Hong Yi’s (Tang Hua) red puffy eyes?

He seems kinda cynical and can’t wrap his mind around the idea that someone would actually be nice to him and not have any ulterior motives. If you think about it, it is a bit sus how this stranger lady is putting her life out there for him merely out of the goodness of her heart. And the fact that she doesn’t die is probably what makes him more suspicious since only his demon enemies possess this ability to his knowledge. And on top of that, there’s no longer and deities there since whatever happened 60 years ago the destroyed the ‘bridge’ for that to occur.
Ep 13 - that ending scene was very sweet and on fire! Loved it . One of the better scenes in cdramaland. Felt so natural. Love the convos between them. Loved the song. It was perfect.
