Look at it a bit more from Jane’s perspective. She knows Alin is aware Pie is romantically interested in her and hasn’t done much to establish boundaries.

The ending is ambiguous so depending on how you interpret it can be sad or happy. Either the FL dies or survives and they reunite later on. Personally I took it as the former.
Some people probably didn’t like the openness of it. Also there’s quite a large age gap. Not just the characters either. The actress who plays the FL is 20 years younger than the ML actor.
Its realistic when they are just casually dating,but when they have many years of relationship,finding the root…
I agree it’d be beneficial, but it doesn’t always work that way sadly. Regardless the length of the relationship. It’s especially hard when neither is capable of properly communicating with one another. While the FL undoubtedly chose the wrong way to end things they were equally at fault in how it failed.
FL comes off very much as a T and ML an F. Though hers may be more on the surface and brought about having to survive that mess called her family.
