Which already occurred during an earlier episode when they were both in jail and holding hands. Especially after her leaving YWY. I see no purpose in spending almost two episodes seeing YX tortured and the assholes laughing, while CQ screamed and YX cried. The only moment worth watching was when his mother appeared and said her lines.

(It was quite unrealistic that she seemed to have died but ended up speaking to him one last time.) Chu Qiao is cool from the beginning, feminism all the way. Why is YX so weak? All happy and smiling when things were good, and the moment life gets tough he just cry and turn evil. Even using the woman who stood by him it seems.
Yu Wen Yue on the other hand, cold and realistic on the outside, but growing up under constant threat and carefulness, he's actually good inside. Sharp and sexy. I hope Chu Qiao ends up with him. They fit. I also prefer his nickname Xing'er over Ah Chu. Call her Xiao Chu if you must; anything is nicer than Ah Chu.

Experiences already proved that sequels disappoint when they change the cast of a successful series. There's no point of making a sequel if it's not with Yang Zi and Qin Jun Jie as Yi Huan and Kang Xi. Their chemistry is the best part of this drama.

Yi Huan is the Princess swapped in episode one. Later the Shifu who swapped her also told her "Dad" that she's actually the Crown Princess and the Crown Prince actually his son. They decided to keep it a secret between the two of them, as the culture was rather sexist and girls could not inherit the Crown, so in order to revive Ming Dynasty they needed a boy. Thus, the engagement so her royal blood will be passed on to their descendants.
The way episode 90 is produced seems like a final episode to me though, with Kang Xi looking at his Jiangshan/Tianxia in his Palace. Although it's a very vague ending, a lot of Chinese dramas have open endings.
I was so upset when that stupid Emperor let her go, I was like: nooo, why did you agree on another bet?! Why did she had to go back, she knew they'll never agree to begin with. Some people seek unnecessary trouble; they could have lived happily ever after. But then again, she wouldn't let someone else bring Zhu Gege back and be happy herself. It's so hard being a good person...

Did she really die? They didn't say anything when handling her blooded clothes. Nothing about the condition they found it, if they searched for her. Maybe her Shifus just wanted him to think that she died. Zhu Gege would not let them kill her even if their mission were to terminate. I saw people mentioning about a second season? Probably still in denial about this ending...
So sad after last week's episodes that I rewatched Yi Huan and Kang Xi's parts from the beginning. Now at episode 79's flashback and it's so sad that I want to start afresh from episode 1 again. I really hope there is a second season as in a way I am looking forward to the last episodes tonight but I'm also dreadful as I sense from the comments that there won't be a happy ending for this lovely couple. The fact that they seem to be together in real life is comforting. But I sense I will be watching a lot of making-off-video's on YouTube to get over this heartache...
Does anyone understand why Qu xiaoxiao has to give up her company? Because that plot point makes no sense to me
Because her parents were fighting about money, she decided to give everything back so her parents stay married. She said she is giving up her part of the inheritance; that she never cared about money, she only cared about her parents. Sadly, it didn't work until Zhao decided to talk to her parents. I thought that was very sweet. I hope her parents get their senses back about how much more important she is compared to money and gives her company back in Season 3, as she worked hard to earn it. But I'm sure she is also capable of starting something else from scratch.
