Can it even count as a love triangle? Chu zhao’s feelings has always been one-sided. I think the screenwriters just wants to create more obstacles for the main leads and find a reason to pushes the wedding to the grand finale. Quite annoying, I was hoping to see their life after marriage 🫠

I kinda think otherwise, I think he did like He Yan.. not as much as Xiao Jue but he definitely harbor quite a bit of feelings for her. His feelings are not really visible in the main story but it’s quite clear in the side stories. That sadness and those longing when he spoke to her after meeting again is what makes me certain that he likes her. Eevn felt a bit bad for him tbh

Don’t forget how he casually came up with wild scenarios about what might have been going on between XJ and HY 😆

CLS is one of the reason and censorship is the other reason. Some of the scenes just didn’t pass censorship so the production team has no choice but to cut it out

Leaving everything else aside, I just hope that the drama won’t weaken He Yan’s fighting skill. I really don’t want to see her losing to Xiao Jue when it came to sword fight because it’s clear in the novel that the two are equal when it came to swordsmanship. I don’t want to see the “she’s strong but he’s even stronger” bs in the drama

Didn’t she asked her master about what happened in court after she woke up? I’m guessing that her master explained everything that has happened to her

I’m also a novel reader and as much as I love the drama adaptation, I also felt abit of disappointment. I feels like the drama doesn’t focus on He yan as much as in the novel and also the added scenes for the second male lead (his scenes are quite boring tbh)

He gradually put the pieces in together starting from how Heyan told him that her birthday was in the spring equinox (same as HRF) and how she always told him that maybe she used to be a female general in her past life. He then anonymously tested her sword skill to see if she was really the HRF back then (he used to gave swordsmanship tips to HRF so if HY was really that person back then, then her swordsmanship will be similar to his).And Heyan did get her sword back from HRF. She challenged him to a duel on the condition that she can take the qinglang sword if she wins. she wins and was able to take the sword (this is all from the novel)

Novel: The emperor gave the title of Wu’an marquis to Heyan after the battle of Rundu while also bestowing Xiao Jue and He yan a marriage degree

Drama version: He yan regain her original title, General feihong, but the emperor said that general feihong and general fengyun can’t be together (he’s probably afraid that two powerful people being put together might be a threat to him). And then Chu Zhao took the opportunity to ask the emperor to marry He yan to him instead. idk what happen after that
