It is a happy ending with Eiji's two personalities merging, Nami opened her jewellery store and all of the antagonists dead (Sai, Momoi, Saruwatari) or in jail (Kyoko, LL, LL's daughter). Eiji and Nami are on friendly terms, the past and present cases have been resolved.
I saw someone further down saying that Lee min ki hasn’t played roles like this before maybe he hasn’t in…
Nope, even in dramas Evasive Inquiry Agency existed. I was pretty sad he was getting typecast as the cold male lead when he's amazing as a loud, hot-blooded character so I'm really glad he's in this. Everyone but especially the 3 siblings are doing an amazing job in their roles and I'm excited to see more.
Although I do think the main plot has been resolved, there's absolutely a lot left to do if they make a Season 2 so I really hope they do so. I want to know more about Santa, the past Kyungyi, her husband and his case, K's future and most importantly Kyungyi's future. Nothing much has really changed for her except some new/improved relationships and getting dragged into a detective agency. She found out her husband was likely innocent but she's still the mess she was at the start of the drama with no real "good" ending for her.
The ending scene with the "other" Lee Youngae may have been played for laughs but I think it could be a hint for Kyungyi deciding to reopen her husband's case to get some proper closure so she can move on from her "mess" to a "cleaner" state. The ending animation also showed K falling down a hole, possibly succeeding in a jailbreak so it's likely this isn't the end for K either.
So yeah, I personally am absolutely down for a Season 2.
A fun thought to entertain is Santa might've actually joined the team for K. There does seem to be a smidgen hint he may have had a crush on her back in Highschool perhaps? I'm pretty convinced he/K went to the same HS at the very least. The whole crush part is likely absolutely wrong but he 100% knows something about Kyungyi's husband's death.
On a random note, does anyone else plug in their headphones just for this drama? The music is hecking awesome so I always plug in my headphones to hear it in better quality.
I don't like k...how can a killer, murderer be loveable??? Her excuses for killing people are just her ways of…
Thank you, you seem to understand my point. I typed back to the other person too aggressively to be honest my bad about that lol. I was a bit peeved because my comment had a lot of thought and time poured into it, yet their response is a no effort rebuttal which used 5 seconds of their life.

This is a drama and she is a fictional character. At no point did I go "uwu she is the most loveable human on the whole planet". I simply appreciate how she has been written which is completely normal. Clearly you didn't read everything I wrote if this is your response.
I have noticed quite a few people seem to dislike K but I absolutely love her. K is a well-crafted multifaceted character with so many different sides to her. She is someone who strongly sticks to her own principles. Even in situations where "society" i.e her workplace views her as an oddball that doesn't blend in, she does not think negatively of those people. She could be petty and kill them off for ostracising her or not giving her the opportunities she wants, but it doesn't matter to her because they're not "bad" people.
Her relationship with Kyungyi is not quite what most people think it is. It's not a cat and mouse chase situation for K. Kyungyi is a respectable figure that one may argue is even a role model to K. Sure K is intrigued by Kyungyi but at the end of the day, K entertains her because she feels like Kyungyi understands her and appreciates her kill ethic. It's what makes Kyungyi special from the whole team to K. This comes from the similarities Kyungyi and K have with each other, it's why K follows how Kyungyi said she would kill people if she was a killer. If K didn't have the childhood she had, she might have even lived a very similar life to Kyungyi which is an interesting thought.
For how smart and cunning she can be, she has a child-like sense of innocence still in her which stems from her childhood trauma. Her kill list included many people her Aunty said were "bad". In contrast to how her crimes are executed in a complex manner, the reason why she picks her targets is extremely simple. They're all bad people. After her aunty dies, she tries to rely on what she thinks her Aunty would say but K becomes unstable and it shows. Her kills become very sloppy and lack planning.
She thinks her Aunty dying is karma for all she has done but she cannot stop anymore. She has gone way beyond the point of stopping and feels like if she does not do the dirty work, then no one will. But she is fine with that, she is okay with bearing with the responsibility of getting rid off all trash. She had no intention of making Keonwook help her until he actively sought her out and offered his help.
K clinging on to Keonwook links back to her childhood. She grew up being lonely with the darkness/dark shadows as her only company from PTSD. Keonwook doesn't understand everything about her but at least as a partner in crime he knows her the most. They have a form of camaraderie which is why they have never really truly screwed each other over. The time when he got her sent to jail was so she could "reflect" on her actions according to him, not because he really wanted her gone. Hence why they went back to normal following the incident.
K screwing over Keonwook's relationship was because of her need for someone while she's mourning/trying to cope. She wouldn't have sabotaged the relationship if Keonwook made her feel more included or if he didn't start pushing her away in favour of his boyfriend. K was being put to the side, she was being left behind by the only person who knew her the most at a time she really needed him. Keonwook is not necessarily wrong for wanting to keep her away from his BF but this happened because he never understood her fully, likely due to his fear of her.
Of course none of this really excuses her actions, but it makes her a multi-layered character with many humane traits. Creating K as someone that isn't a cardboard cut-out creepy and cold serial killer is something I personally highly appreciate.
Kim Hyejoon is someone who I know existed but never really pinged my radar until her role here, she absolutely hit the nail as K. I am extremely excited for her future projects and hope she takes on more grey roles.
I find N's acting in this drama so awkward especially that scene where he shed a tear ( a fake tear) asking Seo…
As someone who has followed him since Vixx days, I can attest this is definitely his worst work so far. This is pretty disappointing since Children of Nobody set up my expectations for his work quality improving per project. His character here is a very poor reflection of his abilities. I recommend checking out Sassy Go Go or Children of Nobody if you're curious to see where he has acted better.
I know it's the same writer but it's still way too similar to Women of Dignity. At this point, it is very easy to name both dramas' equivalent characters.
why are all of you theorizing about a tragic ending? i've watched the first two episodes and didn't see any hints
This show's focal point is the Gwangju Uprising. If you aren't aware on what that is I would advice giving it a search. That + the opening scene set in modern SK is why people are probably assuming for the worst.
