Confused world building Ending was great but they dragged it way too much, it became a bit ridiculous.. I wonder what the original writer planned for the ending..
it maybe a satisfying ending for some but i still have a ton of questions. —WHAT'S THE POINT OF THE INSPECTOR?? —RULES OF YUNG?? WHY IS IT SO VAGUE? —WHY NOT HELP THEIR HUMAN COUNTERS? —WHERE IS THE OTHER COUNTERS? —HOW DID THE EVIL SPIRIT PASSED TO THE MAYOR'S SON WITHOUT KILLING THE MAYOR? —WHAT'S THE CONSEQUENCE FOR BREAKING THE STAFF FROM YUNG? (it was supposed to be like a powerful artifact, but was easily broken by a human possessed by an evil spirit?) —WHAT HAPPENS TO THE HUMAN PARTNER OF THE SPIRITS WHEN THEY DIE?
and lastly...
-WHY IS SO MUN SPECIAL? is it just him? What happened to the other yung spirit that was absorbed by So Mun?
So much plotholes.. Thankfully there's another season coming soon..
I'm sorry but I didn't understand xd how Hana's parents died?
They poisoned the whole family when they went bankrupt. Remember her uncle, Hana had to ask for money from him before.. He embezzled her family's wealth and built his own business.
I dont like Wigen and the other girl spirit.. They inhibit and use their human host asking them to do something, giving them the task to defeat evil spirits but they dont give a shit about their human counterpart.. They USE them but expects the humans not to do this and that and basically become their puppets.. I dont get it.
They're supposed to do the spirits bidding but aren't allowed to feel anything??? Wigen stops Somun and strips him of her powers coz he is becoming strong and couldn't control his emotions.. But who could when you're face to face with the person who murdered your freaking parents?
Wigen is so damn selfish. She dismissed Somun because she's scared of disappearing? Cmon.. You chose him, you used the kid's mortal form to replenish your energy.. You're literally leeching off him. You cant understand why he's so enraged?
Evil spirit or not, those ppl they beat up weren't innocent ppl. They all work for the devil. The mayor and his goons, they're a lot worse than the evil spirits.
Just finished binging this and i seriously love it.. This is the first time I've seen this (not the sequel or the older adaptation) so i have no idea if this is portrayed/made correctly so i wont compare.. Usually i focus on the characters' strengths and weaknesses and how they're able to overcome their flaws/mistakes.. Im particularly interested on the antagonists, what drives them to do bad things.. And tbh i feel like they should've made Jiang Biehe as the main villain and not the sisters.. I was a bit excited when he revealed that he mastered the Wedding Robe Divine Skill, i thought him and Yan Nantian will have an epic fight scene.. But he was defeated in 2 seconds flat lol they built his character arc like the greatest villain that could worm his way out in sticky situations, they literally used him as a tool so the brothers could form a bond. That's it..
The sisters tho.. They got mad at Jiang Feng for basically delaying their mastery of the 9th level of Pure Jade Skill.. Like how is that his fault, he is attractive yes, but it didn't show him seducing both sisters, they fell for him on their own.. They should have Jiang Biehe as the final villain.. Have the duel around midway, Hua Wuque feeling betrayed by his aunts kinda like an existential crisis then more broship moments like when they celebrated their birthday.. He needs to have a character arc since he was so filial to his aunts not knowing he was being manipulated.
I struggled a lot with some of the characters. Esp on the first arc.. Too many names to remember, especially when they were uncovering a conspiracy, I kept asking "who?"... There's the ten great villains, the 12 zodiac, and all the minor ones from the martial arts world.. Sometimes they even outshines the main characters they become bystanders.. I think there's a handful of scenes and situations that was unnecessarily dragged out for too long..
I wanna watch this soon but I feel like it’s a bad idea right after watching the untamed
This. Although it's been a while since I've seen CQL its just their personalities reminds me a lot of LWJ and WWX. The refined and elegant Hua Wuque and the misunderstood but charming and chaotic "villain" Jiang Xiaoyu. And since there's a pesky censorship CQL had to pass their romance as broship, again reminding me of this. I dont even know how many times i blurted out HWQ could pass as a Gusulan disciple/senior even maybe a relative to the twin jades of Lan. And JXY growing up in the Burial Mounds. Lol
Story wise, its EXTREMELY different of course. They're both fantastically made. I even liked the action scenes here than in CQL (ik its blasphemy) but i really liked it.
I never expected to be amazed after CQL, its simply a wall tbh.. But if you shift your focus on the story and the conspiracy and not so much the romance then be prepared to be mindblown.. Because i just did.. And im quite happy and satisfied with the ending.. A bit shortlived but still pretty satisfying..
Currently on episode 10. They should change the title to Evil RBF Boss and his backstory. Like seriously. I dont…
Those flashbacks.. It seriously bothered me.. I think Solo's reason for disbanding the team was legit, he has to take care of his disabled daughter, of course she had to come first. Han Shangyan knew this, its not like Solo hid this from his team.. If they only gave Appledog some time, she would have gotten over it since the lady manager didn't want to get back with Solo. Appledog forgave Solo and even worked for him at SP..
So why would Han Shangyan be so mad at Solo? So its the little girl's fault for being born? Lol his reason was so weak, if he badly wanted to be the world champion, then he shouldn't have retired in the first place.
I would probably understand if they had a team member that died before they could achieve their goal, then he could be angry af at Solo for disbanding them.
The main conflict felt a bit petty and stupid tbh and could be resolved if they only had a proper and mature conversation.

Forgot to comment again after finishing it. Well i can totally understand why ppl insisted on giving it another chance. THE MAIN COUPLE IS CUTE. I think i have a new stan, Li Xian is freaking sinful af especially when he smiles.
Here's a PRO TIP: Skip all the flashbacks and focus on the main story, believe me you wouldn't be missing out on a major plot point.
I dont get why WuBai and Appledog's getting their own spin off, i wasn't sold on their story they didn't have much interactions and i honestly wasn't feeling their pairing, it feels a bit forced.
Mi Xiaofei and Sun Yaya tho.. They're cute af like Tong Nian and Han Shangyan. They should have the spin off..

Currently on episode 10. They should change the title to Evil RBF Boss and his backstory. Like seriously. I dont mind the female lead's antics, i even find it cute like a curious cat. She's not annoying imo just a bit nosy, she even apologises for bothering the main guy, which means she's completely aware of what she's doing.. Girl's just experiencing her first major crush since she's so focused on her studies.. Its just her personality clashes with her supposedly genius character setting.
Im skipping all the boss' and his former team mates history. ITS A TOTAL SNOOZE FEST TBH. I couldn't care less about their relationship..
Also watching this because of Hu Yitian.. But so far, he's only on a handful of scenes.. Im so bummed. Lol
I think its high time for romcoms to be all inclusive. Not just the usual predictable stuff they keep shoving down the viewers throats. We feel bored because its the same shit everytime.
A friend of mine recommended this and now i thank and hate her at the same time because now im DEEPLY addicted to MDZS.
I only watched until episode 10 at first because some of the plot doesn't make sense and then i turned to the novel. IT JUST BLEW MY MIND. For all bl and fantasy junkies out there, the novel is HIGHLY recommended. Please give it a try. Now returning to this, i can understand some of the changes due to some ban and restrictions, the actors did so well especially the main casts. The cgi effects can be a little silly and poorly made but i think the production team did everything they can despite the lack of budget. Regarding the characters complex relationships, i think they all did pretty well, i laughed, cried, got angry with them. I just can't get enough of MDZS.
Xiao Sean and Wang Yibo both killed it. I absolutely love them. I found my new fandom.
Can't believe the show will end tomorrow. Man, this was a long ride, and a favourite 2019 drama and one of my…
Hands down the best historical drama of 2019!! I'm still scarred because of last week's episode. I swear i never cry when i watch any drama but THIS. i was so overwhelmed i had to stop watching for a bit. I knew what was coming but i wasn't prepared.
Hi just saw your comment. Lol- Originally, it's Rio and Akari and it's already mutual but before they could start…
Lol its cool.. the story is great and Rio and Akari was supposed to be a good looking siblings so it made sense they’re played by takumi and hamabe. There will be tension between Takumi and Hamabe so I can’t wait to see it. Lol and Yuna maybe ordinary but she has nice personality and she’s very kind.. it doesn’t matter to her if Rio wouldn’t like her back as long as Rio weren’t hurting anymore.. she’s just too nice.. Rio just fell completely head over heels and totally forgot his feelings for Akari.. I was kinda rooting for Yuna x Inui at first but rn im team Rio x Yuna. Lol hope it won’t discourage you from watching it coz the story is awesome and it’ll all make sense in the end. :)
I’m so confused. Are minami and takumi not a couple here? I’ve read only one or two chapters of the book and…
Hi just saw your comment. Lol
- Originally, it's Rio and Akari and it's already mutual but before they could start dating their parents revealed they were married. Both parent kept it secret then dropped the bomb that same day Rio and Akari were supposed to meet then confess. (I know it sucks) - They decided to push their feelings aside for their parents' sake. Then they all move to Yuna and Inui's apartment complex (These two were close friends but that's all, no hidden feelings whatsoever) They all became friends especially Yuna and Akari. - Yuna was shy and Akari was popular but a little aloof. Yuna eventually noticed the odd vibes from Rio and Akari, by this time she was developing feelings for Rio. Akari at first wondered if Yuna likes Inui but Yuna clarified firmly that they were strictly friends and they were close and comfortable with each other. Yuna eventually found out that Rio likes Akari but she's cold towards him and Akari reassured Yuna that she doesn't feel the same way. - The two settled their past and they decided to totally forget the past when their parents were on the brink of splitting up (they thought the kids weren't getting along and the marriage was a burden to Rio and Akari) - Rio realized he's in love with Yuna when one of his close friend/classmate expressed interest towards her. - Meanwhile, Akari was moving on as well. Her curiosity towards Inui grew to like because she felt at ease with him and they both enjoy each other's company.
That's about it. Lol the manga was still ongoing and i dunno what happened with the updates. Akari and Inui is currently still dancing around each other, now there's another guy (ridiculously good looking ex-boyfriend) that's messing with them. I'm not sure if Inui will confess. Honestly its frustrating. Lmao Rio and Yuna is progressing gradually and they're all fluff and lovey-dovey.
Ending was great but they dragged it way too much, it became a bit ridiculous..
(it was supposed to be like a powerful artifact, but was easily broken by a human possessed by an evil spirit?)
