Is it possible to rate this drama more? It's already 100/10 for me. Goodness. Can't wait till next week, this is why i hate watching ongoing dramas. Lol For those hesitating to watch because of the lack of 'romance'.. well its here.. took them 37 episodes but its finally here. A slow burn (tbh the best) type.
And that was when I learned Lady Song was not a two dimensional character at all. You will love her soft-hearted…
omg ikr?! I thought they'd kill him earlier (when he got shot) and after they signed the peace treaty. He's not the typical revolutionary leader, he's mostly chill and not pushy, he just casually share his views and ideals and sometimes i feel so moved i wanted to join in on their fight. lmao :))
Finally! A saeguk outside the four corners of the royal palace. Love the portrayal and the complexities of each characters, also the way the writers focuses on the corruption of the privileged few and the plight of the poor.
Im only midway through it but there's one scene that hit me real hard and made me think, wow this is what REAL saeguk should be like and not the usual plotting, bickering and killing of the royalties. That scene was when Lady Song was walking through the alleyway full of beggars and poor people. There was one lady asking for food and all they have was a dead rat. And when she gets to the official's house they were feasting and stuffing their faces with food and drinks. It's just too surreal. I actually paused for a while after it. That was POWERFUL.
As someone with low self esteem I can say that's not how someone with low self esteem acts? Not even someone with…
Yeah it’s more like social anxiety or maybe paranoia than low self esteem. I mean she has nice friends that keeps doting on her spoiling her.. you would think her “issues” would be resolved by then but i guess she needed more assurance about her self worth.
On Rin’s case, I’d say it’s probably Yuu’s dad fault. Lol he probably thought it’s best not to pamper her too much kinda like tough love. I actually don’t see it negatively, i also think Yuu needed some reality check tho I’d say calling her trash was too much.
so glad seeing my absolute fav manga getting a live action movie. i couldn't stop smiling while watching this. im quite satisfied on how they handled the ending since the manga was still ongoing. wish they added a bit more of ryuji and nana-san (i love their interactions in the manga)
why do i always go "aww aya" whenever they show aya-chan lol still #TeamTowaFTW!
Completely satisfied with this. It stayed true to the era with their political issues and no unnecessary sub plots, maybe its too boring for some but politics isn’t really thrilling. Lol the romance was surprisingly good and not forced, yi geum and yeoji was cute together.. i was a bit disappointed with prince mil poong’s ending. He was the one of the main antagonist and his story arc ended with suicide which is a bit anti climatic.. also, that rebellion thing feels a little under developed tbh. I can’t sense any emotion from yi in jwa (I thought he was going to be the biggest threat for the king since he’s the main antagonist in the royal gambler. Lol different drama different writers i guess)
Still, i enjoyed this saeguk. I love the struggle for power and righteousness and all the boring politics. I honestly love it. Amazing performance for all the actors, Go Ara injured her ankle so its a bit of a bummer, her strong character was reduced to a mere court maid but she managed to push through it.
Wow, I'm probably one of the few people who actually found this a bit unlikable, lol. I might just be too old…
Let’s go sit on a rocking chair.. LOL watched it coz i love this series and coz it was the remake of iswak.. i guess you can only stuff enough plot points in one movie. Its good and funny during their senior hs days but it all become a sloppy mess after. They took all the important plot points and crammed the rest on the second half of the movie. Zhi Shu’s brother got exactly 3 scenes thats it. Lmao im sorry but i didnt feel any connection whatsoever..
Im not just blindly bashing them or anything i think the acting here is acceptable and i did laugh a few times during the first half of the movie, definitely much better than the recent japanese trilogy.
I need to express my feeling of heartache with this drama. I get so angry when I remember that the first half…
It took me several days to finally watch the last episodes, i know the ending will be bittersweet and mostly focused on ha seon and the queen’s relationship.. I totally agree with you on the wasted potential of this drama there’s a lot of unnecessary filler bits that they gave to the romantic parts which serve no purpose on the entire plot.. just the king and queen pledging their endless love over and over.. i mean I never felt any danger from the rebel forces of the queen dowager and the other prince.. there’s the minimal confrontation at the end. The show went from great to okay after they killed the real king. Im completely bummed coz jingoo’s performance was as usual awesome and epic.
Yep its so awesome coz they still have their monarchs, tho it’s obviously fictional.. i love their overall style. It looks super chic and fab.. some parts were a bit over the top, lol but i still love the chemistry between the MCs :) wow better than korean full house? Now that’s interesting.. full house is iconic.. thanks for the recommendation! Really appreciate it <3
I LOVE IT. a bit biased (lol) but i honestly enjoyed it. Samarun is so darn adorable, she reminds me of Hatori (Kiritani Mirei from Heroine Shikkaku) the stupid but cute lead. LMAO
A lot of people will disagree with me but this was great until the romance started to take over. It's usually…
lol i hope i didn't ruin it for you. how do i explain it without spoiling so much.. umm, i guess it is but also it isn't. the romantic parts were essential to move the plot forward but it just went a bit too far that it nearly overshadowed the main issues.
Its still good tho, the suspense and politics are back again.
Oh thank goodness they didn't drag the issue with the queen but that infertility news wrecked me. So freaking intense.
Haseon is acting super reckless is making me nervous.. I hope chief royal secretary or eunuch jo fill haseon in on the stuff about the events before he took over the throne.
Who else forgot Shin Chi Soo has a niece here? Lmao i totally forgot the king's clingy concubine ????

looking forward to the next episodes..

anything takeuchi i'm all for it. bless you wonderful people.
loved him on Teiichi and i knew i found my new bias. lmao
