Can you blame her?

Absolutely. That’s why she can’t express how she feels to him at all. From the very beginning he was rude and harsh to her. On top of that, their power dynamic. Both characters are flawed but he more so than her. He’s got more life and work experience than her, he should know better. He’s arrogant, rude, and possessive. Tell me those aren’t toxic qualities….He has never seen her as an equal in any way. Thankfully they curbed his character in the drama. I could not stand him in the novel.

While his actions are different but the shit that comes out of his mouth is still verbal abuse. Imagine being with someone who is constantly criticizing your intelligence and demeaning you one minute and the next, be all sweet and loving. I’ve watched my ex-stepdad do exactly that to my mom for 10 years and let me tell you, it slowly eroded her confidence and self worth until she was a shell of herself… So yeah that is still toxicity.

Oh I don’t know….perhaps kind words and encouragement instead of the barrage of verbal abuse…..

Welp just finished the novel. I must say the Luke in the novel is way more of an asshole….

If they go by the novel, she hasn’t gotten to her breaking point yet….

This was my absolute favorite drama of his. The tension, the push and pull was perfection. Can’t wait for S2

With any disease everybody’s response to it is different. Perhaps she has an immunity to it or had very little symptoms. I remember when my son got strep throat (bacterial) and then gave it to his brother and I. My son barely had any symptoms and was able to recover quickly. His brother had a severe sore throat and I thought I was going to die. I had the awful sore throat and a cough so bad I fractured a rib and dislocated the lower bottom one’s. So yeah I do believe Ye li might just be immune to it….

I completely agree. Her character here has so much depth and nuance. From her strength and resilience to her brilliant strategic mind and finally down to the fragility if it.

Everyone is so pissed off at the ML , but ya’ll it’s a natural reaction from him. Ye li has like a billion secrets that she hides from her husband and this is a big one. He’s not one to trust easily and he trusted her, only to find out that there are many things he didn’t know about his wife. Can you blame him for doubting her feelings for him?

Exactly. Everyone here bashing the ML for being upset. Imagine losing your family through false claims and you’ve been looking for the evidence to exonerate them for years only to find out that your wife knew about it and has been keeping secrets from you. That is a huge deal. Presenting that edict was a life and death situation. Her family was the one that took it. Even though it wasn’t her fault, but she knew about it. Imagine if Ye Li was in MXY’s shoes. Pretty sure she’d file for divorce too.

Also Prisoner of beauty and Love Like the Galaxy is a must!

Don’t bother. This person is on almost on every cdrama page complaining. He/she just probably wants to get a rise from people…..

I mean can you blame her? Totally drool worthy. You’ve got to be blind to ignore his highness’ ummm…..charms.
