This will be difficult to read because it’s poorly translated and they mix up the pronouns https://www.novelupdates.com/series/chong-zi/
Maybe you can do the Story of Kunning Palace (A lady’s tranquility). I’m currently trying to read that one through google translate and my head hurts trying to make sense of it…
Now that I've truly finished the most recent episodes, I am upset re: the writing. I expected better of the writing…
I think because the drama changed LYF’s character so much that they have to get the storyline back on track. Think about it…. The only thing that would cause Chong Zi’s badass glowup is betrayal from the only person she loves and trust. If his character continued to be consistent then there wouldn’t be any misunderstanding therefore no character growth for Chong zi.
I’ve read it recently. I’m not sure how I feel about it to be honest…. I do think that the changing of Luo Yin fan’s character was for the better in the drama. I hated him in the novel. Also I didn’t feel the love between the leads as much. More one sided. Maybe it was because of the translation. I do hope they add the the epilogue in the drama though.
Sloppy writing in recent episodes are a result of deviating from the novel without a good reason:In the novel…
I agree. But Luo Yin Fan in the novel was awful. He was a brutal sanctimonious a**h*le. Him falling in love with Chong Zi didn’t seem as believable. There were very little moments of tenderness between the two. I’m glad that they changed that. Still though, the director changed too much of the story. Things that didn’t need to be changed like the necklace thing. So freaking dumb. At least they made LYF realize his love for Chong zi earlier. I’m not going to lie, had they stuck to the novel for each character I would’ve rage quit. The trauma that Chong zi had to go through in the novel made me sick.
