I don't care about this drama or the actors in it. I just watch public's reaction to all the problems. Yep, it was a hit during its release. A real dark horse. And actors played their roles perfectly. Which makes the iQiyi's promos and behavior even more horrific.

Plagiarism? People don't really care about it, if the final novel/drama/film are good. Promos are the problem.

I regularly check weibo hot search too. So, I don't lie. Like the hot search about 6.0 score on Douban. Most passer-byes thought it was too high for reasons I said.

Mass whitewashing of murderers, promos by iQiyi (I doubt they were done 100% by actors themselves), changing the name of the victims father to that of a murderer... No wonder that drama is being boycotted along with production company, film group, etc.

Thing is, that cheating was added by drama. In real life, there was nothing like that. (:

Actors and actresses are crazy, iQiyi even more crazy. There is a talk about taking this drama off the shelf by public.

Actually, it's mess on Weibo and for iQiyi not cause of plagiarism. Audiance can swallow plagiarism, if the drama is good, but "Drifting Away" is based on real case and the victims' families are still alive now.

Now how iQiyi glorifies murderers with "F4 of the meat processing plant"? Even putting real life murderer's name as a victim's father? I repeat that the drama is based on real life case. I am Yu Shuxin's fan first and foremost and their CP fan too. I like him pretty much, cause he's sincere and good, scandal free too, but his fan base needs a severe washing (removing toxic ones).

It's when A crew does all the preparatory drama/film work, but after filming's start suddenly A crew is fired withput full wedges and crew B is officially hired. If the drama/film fails with the ratings, it's not the fault of crew B. It is typically fault of whatever liuliang/big name actress/actor they cheated.
