Ao the daughter didn't end up with that green ass flag of a man. So the mother and father faught through hell…
Did you watch this with a little bit of prejudice? Doesn't sound so right to me.

I am not sure why you said that the daughter didn't fight for him when it's HIM who didn't. Despite all those past insults thrown at Daughter, she still tried her best to please the bitch mother until she finds out what that bloody mother said to her mum. Her parents did supported them regardless of how hurtful things that bitch threw to them, and they didn't even let their daughter know. Ultimately it's her daughter decision to proceed or to call off.

Him on the otherhand, besides raising his voice to his Mum and called her "Mum!". Did he even do anything to fight for her? Not really. This on and off relationship repeats for quite some time and it's getting nowhere because the problem with that bitch mother wasn't able to be resolved. It's a pity that they didn't get to stay together at the end, but don't call their relationship pathetic that they didn't fight for each other when they did tried, but it doesn't work out because someone's son couldn't choose between his mum and someone else's daughter. Despite saying that he can choose the Daughter instead of his Mum, Daughter knows that their relationship will not be fully happy because of how she understands him. Son kinda agreed with that and thus eventually also agreed that they are letting each other go for the best.

Life goes on, and not everyone will end up with their first love due to circumstances. That's how realistic things can be.

To say they could have fought harder sounds so easy from someone unrelated. Yes this is a drama, the script could have made them like struggle and then eventually be together like Gwansik and Ae Sun. But don't forget, both son and daughter have their own parents to consider and their financial background ain't that similar as compared to Gwansik and Ae Sun (whom is an orphan) back then. That's reality.

Vol 1 is about losing mother, vol 2 losing a child, vol 3 losing a lover, so what will we lose in vol 4?? 😭
Volume 1 is about losing Ae Sun's mother, Volume 2 is about losing her son, Volume 3 is losing her Grandmother, and Volume 4 is losing her Husband

I am sorry I laughed when Silver came back from military with a surprise 🤣

Also, the aunties' joy everytime when teasing the youngsters especially Silver. They spoke the truth but they purposely didn't say every detail just to let his mind anyhow run was definitely fun to watch.

I don't understand the sudden switch of husbands.Like, Yeong Beom was multiple times described as a copy of Gwan…
I guess you haven't watch fully what happened?

Unfortunate life ain't full of roses when it comes to how realistic certain things is when it comes to family background.

That kind of Mum is not as simple as abandon her and live your own life as if nothing happened. As far as he is mostly similar to Gwan Sik, but his Mum is at another level compared to Gwansik's family. Our dear Gold deserves better, and in terms of character, Seon Ho's character is a better fit. That part of Yeong Beom can never be like Gwan Sik, and it's probably also the best part that our dear Gold needs.

I am already rooting for him when I know how his mother is like too. Something Yeong Beom couldn't do for Geum. I can see alittle of Gwan Sik's character in Seon Ho's character too. Not as much as Yeong Beom, but he is much more heartwarming as he can also speak up for Geum when someone speaks lowly of her (In this case Yeong Beom couldn't even make much sound when his Mum keep insulting Geum like dirt).

Yang Gwan Sik seriously needs to realize one thing...he also deserves all happiness and he is a great husband…
His wife said He is her home. There is nothing more realising than that.

This drama is on my plan-to-watch list, and its rating has gotten higher than before. Is it really good, or is…
I am not a super fan of either leads tbh. But I do like them and a few of their works.

That said, I am sure I am not biased towards the actors, this drama is just that good. However, such genre is not for anybody. If you like something realistic, emotional, sentimental, one that hit your heart to the core and gives you many life lessons and story, where you don't mind crying time to time, then this drama is for you! It's just that great!

Heard Gwan Sik will pass away before Ae Sun at their old age, not happening in the first 2 Volumes of course.

Can anyone explain what this drama is about without spoilers
For now it's like a storytelling from a child (Daughter) on how pure and simple the past generation of her's (Her Mum) were, how they cope with life, pain, sorrow and loss based on what Her mum has shared to her as well as her own experience as she grow up with consciousness to remember + a reflection of herself (Daughter) on how she was kinda entitled as she yearns for more (material stuffs) that she couldn't have despite knowing well that her parents have already tried to give her the best that they could most of the time.

The love story of how he falls first, she fell harder and how they have lived from the past till now (except that the timeline will go back and forth in this story instead of a tale that is shown chronologically).

park bogum will be on it after ep 6?
The story will still go back and forth to tell the backstory so yes. But he won't be around in the "present" time.

They showed IU acting as both mother and daughter, they could have also did the same for Park Bo Gum instead of…
As far I would like to see more of Bo Gum acting as the next Gen, but I would prefer this way.

Both parents obviously showed more love to their Eldest child as compared to the middle one. Reason? She's like the Mum and therefore she is the next gen of how she may live her life different from the choice of her mum.

Middle child is not the focus here, so therefore being Bo Gum or not is pointless

Realised not too long ago that Gwansik's children are named after the colour of medals

Geum - Gold
Eun - Silver
(Cheong)Dong - Bronze

Medals that he is aspired by almost everyone to obtain in representing their small village as an Athlete, but nothing is more important than the love of his life and starting a family with her that he is willing to give up as an Athlete. Priority changes, his family and children are both his dreams and reasons to continue living.

Eldest is truly the Gold of their lives as they are trying their best to let her live the life she wants despite family not being of good financial background, but Dad and Mum are giving their all to support if they can. Gold is like a new living version of Mum whom is unable to live the life she want due to circumstances at that point, and so the hopes and dreams she used to want, seeing Gold achieving anything and getting anything is the same to Mum herself getting them. If Gold is happy, she is happy.

Seeing Gold is like seeing Mum again in a younger self (though slightly different), the second love of Dad's life alive. For 20 years of unconditional providing to the family because of his love and how his family is his dreams, he also wanted to give his best for Gold to live a much golden life, providing everything she wants with the best of his ability, as just like Mum, she is smart. He's happy when Gold is happy.

While Dad and Mum's lives aren't easy as they needed to give up alot of things to support the family of dreams they have, Gold is like their embodiment of hopes and dreams that they couldn't have in their times, so they wanted the best they could provide for her if she ever wanted anything, to their best of ability as seeing Gold is like seeing Mum herself living the life she deserves but couldn't in her time. ❤️
