It doesn't have that kind of romance you see in typical romance drama but there's Platonic Love.
DC had 1 blind date iirc in S1 in which he wasn't interested. Subsequently, his attention span is only with SY. Even if DC subordinate (Girl) has any personal issue which is affecting her, DC is oblivious, only SY paid attention to such detail (as this is technically part of a case). This is something from S2.
I would say it's pretty similar to near the end of S1 condition, but there's a few scenes to showcase their close "friendship" that's both funny and nice to watch.
Other than that, it's just trusting each other as working partners, except DC doesn't have much role as compared to S1. SY takes most of the screen time to expand and develop his capability in solving the cases as the prior focus. DC serves more like a supporting and savior when it comes to critical situation of SY. But when DC gets rude like how someone has pointed out, it's either cause of SY's safety issue or Captain Lei related
I came here because alot of the casts got an award from the recent SBS held yesterday or something. Thought it is a good must watch
Then read alot of people whom are actually disappointed with this show and the rating of MDL is also not as high as JFH although I understand they are not of the exact same genre (just made some reference cause KNG and PSH are candidates of the Daesang)
Am I the only one to think Mr Fang is creepy?Every time he appeared in an episode he seems lurking around Shen…
Not the only one for sure. His 2nd appearance gives the vibe of the villain of S1 ending based on his actions.
But so far he has been someone whom is helping SY to elevate his talent whenever he is involved.
It would be great he is just a great supporting character to help SY in his growth and progress, but with a few incidents that kinda have Mr. Fang's scenes I think kinda imply that it's not that simple. He is very likely to be the final villain of this Season. His appearance definitely fits someone villainous unlike Season 1, but it's also what makes both season very different and fresh to watch in their own ways.
GYT and FXW irl are just a decade year old difference but because of how they look, if you tell me they are similar age it's definitely much more believable than saying she is his Godma...
He don't look that young so I got a shock initially when he said that she is his Godma and the actors are just following based on his age being younger than his looks. But based on judgemental society of why they are together, I truly believed it should have been harder to tell that they have an age gap if GYT never revealed to anyone how old is he compared to FXW. It's passable that they can act of similar age since they look normal as lovers. Lol
Shen Yi scared me for a minute there....his acting🔥🔥. But I'm starting to see why Du Cheng doesn't want…
Yes same, but how many times does SY wants to endanger himself?
Who walk into a killer house by themselves thinking they would be unharmed? SY could almost get himself killed again. Luckily this time DC stop scolding him. He's just glad SY's alright
Everytime Du Cheng talks about captain Lei I want to barf
I think it's the plot that kinda need some change. They should stop tagging/dragging Captain Lei anymore further towards any more new/old case or incident as his death case is OVER!!! Get over it I agree.
As long as nothing is related to him, you won't hear DC talk about him.
I think both can't be compared since they have different approach.
Season 1 crime solving is more brutal and the villains are really villains
Season 2 seems more emotional, where some "villains" are kinda Grey. You will feel for them because you know some are either manipulated or some choose to tag themselves like a villain but their actions kinda prove otherwise.
Do I need watch season 1 before watch this season?I watched season 1 but I vague remember about the story now.
Previously I would say No and Yes. But based on latest episode, I would say a pure Yes
Watch for how the 2 ML came to know each other and begin to work with each other, so that S2 is smoother since S2 already started with the 2 ML working with each other as a Team, + the rest of the crew members of course.
Also watch out for the backstory of Du Cheng especially, since S2 latest episode has some relations with regards to a specific personnel whom is important to him.
Season 2 starts to draw reference with Season 1's personnel (aka Captain Lei)
It is thus recommendable to watch Season 1 first before starting Session 2 if you haven't watch so that you can catch stories and chemistry better (also for how the 2 ML came to know each other, etc. in Season 1) although S1 and S2 cases/incidents are quite standalone, but S2 made some scenes reference back to S1 due to a case/incident.
The end of S1 is also open ended which will happen some time in S2.
You won't regret watching this if you are into crime solving, mystery, art, bromance. Even if you are not really into art, you will learn to appreciate how beautiful art is, just like me.
This part about Ao Li, I also wonder why. If she feels guilty, she could have find opportunity and tape down her…
Agree, but I take it as they both chose the Jerk at one point of their time and Ao Li regretted first followed by this incident which make Jingjing regret. I think Ao Li still cherish her friendship with Jingjing that's why never really do anything to ruin their friendship. She got played when Jerk decided to dump her and then it's too late for her to have recording of anything since there is an eye witness and ultimately all believe the Jerk instead of her.
At the end of the day, both knew they betrayed each other for the Jerk as they trusted the wrong person and thanks to this incident, Jingjing woke up so she probably already forgave everything since it no longer matter. The Jerk doesn't matter in both of their lives anymore, but the future of the 2 of them themselves.
Both call each other Bitch and then just live and let go, cherishing each other as best friend again since. Their friendship was ruined over one man previously so both decided to work on their friendship once again and not make the same mistake again I guess. It's not as realistic, but no one got killed also, so I do get their happy ending in this direction. No point over complicating things lol.
I liked the ending of Ao Li and jingjing case, but I didn't understand one thing, why the hell Ao Li even after…
Betray her best friend? I think it goes both way
Love is blind, it makes people stupid. Initially when Ao Li found out that Jerk is two-timing, she gradually accepted because she loves him. At one point of course she wants him for herself. It's not wrong to say she betray her best friend Jingjing over this love. BUT she woke up when he was the one who "tried to set things clear". There were no records of any Convo or hotel booking they had with each other and he made it seem like she was the one who is crazy and obsess over him rather than him being the one multiple-timing or anything, thus playing the victim in making everyone believed him over Ao Li. This means Jerk has made a choice for Jingjing as the main kick and wants to get rid of his sidekick with Jingjing being naive not knowing the truth.
At that time she told her best friend Jingjing that he is a jerk, but friend choose to believe him over her best friend. This soured their friendship/relationship and she choose to leave them behind. Ao Li also got betrayed by Jingjing in a way as their friendship can't be compared to the relationship over a man. Girl chose to believe the man instead of her best friend.
Years later, Jingjing and jerk decided to get married, sent over a wedding invitation to Ao Li. This triggered Ao Li inner devil that she couldn't let go years ago. Either she was still with concern for her ex best friend or she just couldn't stand the jerk harming anyone with his lies. She knows getting married will ruin the lady's life, somemore it's her ex best friend. That's why she is doing things to make sure the wedding doesn't go as planned, because Boy was a Jerk, and at that point, is still a Jerk in Ao Li's eyes (even if Jerk suddenly become faithful it still doesn't change the fact what he did in the past)
And from that encounter, as you can see, Jerk still wants to be entangled with Ao Li as his sidekick, having physical contact with her and watching her Live. This means that Jerk hasn't change at all and all the more proves that Jerk shouldn't get married. And the rest got revealed over the confrontation.
Deep down, Ao Li feels wronged, betrayed and also misses her then best friend. Her best friend relationship was ruined over a Man. I believed she is also making up for her betrayal of this "love" by stopping the marriage that will ruin her ex best friend's life. So either way, both of them technically betrayed one another at one point (over 2 different matter but related to the Jerk), but since the truth came to light, they embraced each other as they know their friendship is worth more than the Jerk.
I would say it's pretty similar to near the end of S1 condition, but there's a few scenes to showcase their close "friendship" that's both funny and nice to watch.

🤔
Based on 1 day per episode, this drama should be ending next Sunday, with last episode airing at 6PM (China Time)
Edit: Someone mentioned 3 episodes a week, from Mon to Wed, so last episode will be on 6 Jan
As far as anyone whom want to deny or ain't a fan of this sensitive topic, Season 1 obviously tells you DC ain't interested in any ladies
But so far he has been someone whom is helping SY to elevate his talent whenever he is involved.

SY too engrossed with things can get reckless
Shen Yi is Du Cheng's, don't try to steal his man 😂
As long as nothing is related to him, you won't hear DC talk about him.

And they say if the case really is proven true that Captain Lei didn't solve properly, his merit will be taken away.
Oh man, leave the already dead man alone...
