Attempting an Interpretation of Their First Meeting Holding a Falling Cross {So far fave symbolism}
There's something symbolically daring about that scene and Not in a romantic way but just arhh.
The falling of the cross at such a pivotal meeting could suggest a religious disorder and the two (regarded as impending embodiment of sin) holding the cross in such "crossed" manner could suggest a LOT
Like the "Sin" meeting the sacred. In an attempt to ordain and ground their first meeting in something sacred - regardless of the perception of their Union as sin.. perhaps the writer attempts to ground their Union in line with something sacred.
Or maybe suggesting a religious disorder erupting from their meeting while also suggesting how sacred this bond is to be. Because this "sin" actually could hold onto this religious disorder that it actually didn't storm.
quick note: Play the song SUN BLEACHED FLIES By ETHEL CAIN. It needs to be an OST here lol and. I NEDD THIS SHOW TO FEEL LIKE THAT SONGGGG
I've been seeing YOUNG AND BEAUTIFUL by Lana song used for this drama edit a lot when I think the real song in question that should also be considered is Sun bleached flies. Perfectly encapsulates the messages here to some devastating extent
if I remember correctly, chine has a lot of censorship stuff going like they don't allow lots of stuff. And Rebirth is one of them. so any drama where in the novel (one which isn't xianxia or fantasy) that a character reborn and comes back to life or goes back in time, is mostly censored.
Eg. Love like the galaxy, the novel had such trope but It was scrapped out. The double, The Glory and legend of female General also had that trope but they removed the rebirth
1. Ashes to crown - Moving from grass to grace. Rising from the ashes to riches/crown
2. Ashes to Crown - The idea of placing "royalty" or honor on someone who has fallen from grace. So to say, The person is still of low grace and considered insignificant as ashes at their lowest but still gains the "crown" of glory.
I like the 2nd more and will use that as my interpretation lol. the 1st would be too genetic
In my opinion it does get more emotional and engaging later on, but the drama keeps the same slow and subtle style…
I've seen my fair share of Japanese bl that mostly has this kind of storytelling aesthetics and style. So it's really interesting how I still haven't clicked to this in the first 2 episodes...So idk
Please don't butcher itt ðŸ˜

so I'm wondering why this aired
