I think the ending was fitting and right. There has to be a trade-off. He saved the FL! Also the rabbit demon ( I cried too much when he died). In fact he saved a lot of characters. SML & SFL, his half brother...
Actually it's open endings so he will comeback to her because they can't live without each other. At least their…
In the scene where ML speaks to father he gets out this black talisman. I can't remember, did he and that to him or just showed him it? I think this is the clue for us if anything since it's only him and FL remembers at this stage. The open ending I feel hinges on this.
I must have skipped something. If anyone knows, how was Liu Guang Cai's character arrested? Was this a deliberate set-up by the Tang family and always part of their plan, or the police independently re-investigated and then found him guilty?
Also, I wanted to highlight the bunny demon actor’s performance because I actually think he nailed it for me.…
He has been in many roles and already quite established in the industry, being a child actor. I think he portrayed his role perfectly here considering I saw his role in playing a more stern character in A Moment But Forever. He made the news just recently topping scores in Central Academy of Drama:
loving the cinematography and acting! does anyone know which city in china it's set in - northeastern china?
I also want to know too. Maybe it's me, some of the characters did not sound like they were speaking Mandarin. It's like an accent or another dialect. Looking at the flora, it looks like an area that would have mild winters.
This can't come near L&P. Recent drama's must be upgraded from the previous level but, I don't why recent dramas…
I'm afraid it will continue for a bit more. There's already a mild push-back. I guess, there's only so many ways to write modern romance I guess. Right now, it's hard faced ambitious FL against an honest puppy-like childhood sweetheart. Well, I enjoyed Filter this year. Original screenplay, and well thought out. But it's like finding a needle in the haystack in drama-land right now.

Because, they are running out of web novels to choose from, and now it's down to the sub-standard ones.
The question should be, why are dramas churned out like some factory workshop? I would say, too much competition and excess amounts of dramas leads to dilution. They should be putting the emphasis back onto original scripts. Wait, wouldn't that require tremendous amounts of work and dedication and of course creation?
The truth is, there are too many lazy productions, hoping to make a quick buck and keep doing this hoping it would land because the novel fans are already on-board in advance. But that is slowly crumbling and the drama circuit will go a full circle eventually.
I find the simp ML trope really getting annoying. If ML rejects or breaks up with FL, he keeps simping for her…
This is the problem with adapting some romance web novels. You have to remember, the writers attract the audience and often they will write out their fantasies and that's fine, but the key bit is, it's to attract like minded audiences.
When you adapt onto screen, you then attract the general public/passerbys too, and it just exposes the very obvious shallowness and short comings the author has. Often with romance plots so far removed from even a glimmer of reality, and quite obviously dreaming about a partner that will do anything for the FL's problems. And problems includes her bad judgment, bad temper and of course stubbornness that is glamourized rather than looked into as a problem.
It's meant for female audiences, but many have moved on for equality rather than turning the tables and settling old scores for past storylines that were the other way round.
I want to talk about foreshadowing in this drama which is a loooot lately! But particularly about Xuanye's white…
The scene when she's sobbing whilst trying to talk and remain stable whilst dyeing his hair and him then turning around realising is so natural and touching. It's as if both are unaware of that's happening. He is almost looking perplexed but touched in equal measures, she, confused but also so grateful and embarrassed she has caused him pain. All this is to heighten their bond but also something very important about to happen.
Personally, I notice on MDL anyway, dramas that feature court intrigue, in-fighting between relatives that fall…
I noticed this slowly when I started using MDL in the beginning to check out cast lists. I don't watch K-dramas as I will end up with no time in my day since I'm already squeezing in watching some dramas whilst working at the same time.
I'm assuming the higher volume of watchers on K-dramas which could bump up the ratings. But on a cynical note, others may suggest some sort of rivalry between countries, who knows.
I like mystery and horror more so I'm used to seeing lower ratings. I'm fine by that, but lately I keep seeing posters talking about haters coming in to deliberately down vote dramas that seems so childish and sad if this is true. We should always think about dramas and its contents first, not the actors that are in it, but I guess, this could be a spill over from fans of pop stars/groups. Since many actors are coming in from a music background and their fandom bring with them their culture.
MDL ratings are untrustworthy, particularly since the site refuses to publish the way in which they decide ratings.…
I have been told by others that MDL ratings takes into consideration discussions (how many posts), so this is why we are now seeing more and more forced inane chats pre-drama going back years on some dramas. As soon as an actor is officially listed, chit chat follows and this includes uploading photos into the gallery. MDL takes all this into consideration.
Even when the drama is airing, I have seen some posters encouraging others to keep posting one line to fill up the comments and inflate the so-called engagement. Not sure if this is borrowed from these Chinese marketing accounts that take into account discussions on social media and this is applied on MDL.
Since I couldn't find any dramas worth watching, I was watching productions from 2023. After Mysterious Lotus…
Personally, I notice on MDL anyway, dramas that feature court intrigue, in-fighting between relatives that fall into all the typical social norms are liked more. Pitting women against each other, evil mother-in-laws, that sort of stuff get ratings rocketing. Then the exceptionally powerful female lead that defies all logic and social norms of past dynasties comes a close second. Then rom-coms featuring the latest new faces of the year. Storylines there are not that important since it's just fan service in this category.
I guess everyone likes different things. Republican, spy dramas, horror, suspense and mystery tend to have lower ratings.
