Is this drama really funny and will get me interested in it with episode 1?
You can definitely watch episode 1. The succeeding episodes, especially near the end, well...

It is definitely one of the most beautiful romantic story out there. It was a tad melancholic that I almost regretted watching it because it hurt so much. Still, what made it beautiful is how realistic it almost is. You're like watching how a real love story would evolve. I can see my parents in them. Though I must admit, aegyo is definitely not in Je Hoon's repertoire. Hahaha. It was really beautiful, both of the leads did a great job.

Great show, but my main issue was with the time skip forward at the end. Maybe they should have thought about…
It wasn't pre-produced. They even finished filming the day of the finale, which was amazing in itself but I wish they had more time polishing each episodes. I heard there were a lot of scenes skipped that would have explained the finale better.

Person Lee Je Hoon
Just once, I want to see my two most favorite Korean actors, Lee Je Hoon and Kim Go Eun, in one film. I bet the screen would explode with their talent.

I thought this drama really lacked something. It could have been good but damn. The second was... I don't know. I just fast-forwarded it. The plot was going around in circles. The female lead was... so one-dimensional. It could've been a little bit better if only the female lead was... I don't know, else infinitely more reasonable? I think the show was even mocking itself. The only reasonable person there was the head doctor.

Ok. Let me get things straight. Gong Yoo spends 900 years living with the burden of his mortal life, waiting for…
I read A Man's Search for Meaning before watching the finale. After reading that, I sort of understood why Kim Shin would want to suffer in between the lives of Eun Tak. You see, in that book (it is a true story, by the way), love was painted as the ultimate saving grace for concentration camp inmates. I guess it is something that we cannot understand as we haven't suffered like the Jews in the holocaust/Kim Shin did. Also, the whole premise of the show is about the eternal sad love and they portrayed it for both couples.

I guess the show didn't quite portray well the emptiness Kim Shin felt in his 900 years of life in comparison with the longing and anticipation he shall feel over the next few hundred years.

P.S. The book was a great read. :)

it was such a bittersweet ending and my heart hurts. I mean even though they all got a happy ending, it's…
Throughout the series, God had shown himself to be graceful. Maybe, like how he was with Wang Yeo and Sunny, God will let Kim Shin and Eun Tak be finally together for real on Eun Tak's last life.

It has been a good run, you all. I retract what I said earlier. The story is good and not just passable. :)

I hated the ending, though. I turned into a sobbing mess halfway into the final. I hated the fact that it did not offer me any reprieve after episode 13. Back to BTS to release me from my pain.

I'm not going to lie, the story/plot is its weakest suit but there are other parts of the drama that are…
There is science behind it. Well, at the least, there is a formula. I'm sure you watched a lot of kdramas. A lot of them have common denominators and sadly, this one too.

"Miserable girl saved by/met a rich successful guy."

Even back then when I used to read a lot of YA, most of the well-known books were "broken guy/girl saved by the love of a naive girl/boy". I think you're hurt because you feel like I'm putting you down for your entertainment choices. I don't, one drama does not have to be perfect to be enjoyed but it's great if we contemplate why it isn't perfect.

Anyway, it's ending now. Let's stop arguing and just wait for the last two episodes. :)

Dude, I stayed up late EVERY saturday and sunday morning (international fan problems) and haven't had a life for the past month. I like it that much that I'm going to spend my freaking money on that perfume (it just smelled so good). BUT! If we are going to stay objective here, the plot is its weakest link. We are in a rating site, after all. However, I don't have much faith in MDL after Misaeng got a relatively low rating. Still, we have to do our job and rate accordingly.

Also, I did not mention "dumb sheep" in my comment, heck, even ever in my life. I'm watching it, I'm fangirling it. Again, there are other things that made this drama good. Special mention to the music, as well, I have it on my phone now. :)

I'm not going to lie, the story/plot is its weakest suit but there are other parts of the drama that are commendable. The production and acting is superb. I don't see it looking dated for awhile. The actors did a wonderful job, most especially Kim Go Eun. I had a "character shock" when I watched episode 14 earlier. She is VASTLY different from Eun Tak of episode 13. I guess they are what made this drama good. It has a passable story that would've suffered greatly if handed on to sub-par actors and production crew. Thank you tvN and the actors.

Geez. This is a good drama, don't get me wrong, but it's overrated. It isn't life-changing.
Yeah. It is too high. I imagine when the drama ends, the rating would become lower and appropriate. Sad. It's the second romance series that I got obsessed with. That said, I shouldn't let my emotions cloud my judgement.

Sunny is starting to piss me off, don't know why...
Well, she has always been cool and level-headed from the start. Even when she was shown her previous life, there were only slight changes in her demeanor because somehow, I guess, she was able to compartmentalize her previous life from her current one (her upbringing may have also been a factor in the same way that the Grim Reaper is different in character from Wang Yeo). Even Kim Shin recognized this. In her latest dialogue with GR (and even with Eun Tak), Sunny was being sensible and you can't fault her reasons. So, I daresay that Sunny is the most mature and logical among the characters, considering that she's the only normal person there.

Also, Wang Yeo is being punished so it is plausible that he'd be the only one seemingly suffering.

woah the rating is so high!! Is it really that good? Should I start watching now or after Saturday when everything…
Well, it's good enough if you want some fun and romance in your life. However, the story is not exactly fool-proof, there are a LOT of fillers and plot holes but it does not drag that much. The actors, cinematography, and production, however, really shines.

Exactly, it doesn't pretend to be a life-changing drama, it's just a romcom. However, it does boast a unique theme (not so much for the plot) and laudable actors.

And I don't understand why many viewers bawling at the end of Episode 13. It is expected thou? Surely, GB…
I thought KGE did a great job of portraying a girl losing her lover right in front of her. It sounded like she was REALLY experiencing it, it wasn't that silent-crying-trying-to-hold-myself-together you see in other dramas. There was desperation in her voice that you should only hear from people who were in a similar situation. Add to that the OST, which was hauntingly beautiful. It fit the scene very well.

That last scene in the desert... That must mean something! I keep wanting it to be the last piece of Wang Yeo's…
They say it might possibly be Kim Shin at the buckwheat field where he died.

I don't know if it is the masochist in me but I cannot stop replaying the last 30 minutes of episode 13. I have never bawled in a drama before this one. I did not even cry in the final episode of Signal. Why do Kim Go Eun and Gong Yoo have to be great actors? Whyy? That breakdown scene at the end made me breakdown as well. T^T

I am having a hard time watching this because of Go Eun honestly she' the only hole in drama the main couple…
Maybe that is just the way her character is written. You should consider watching her different dramas, she's a very versatile actress. Like in CIIT, she's very different there. You won't feel an ounce of Eun Tak in Hong Seol. Anyway, I hope you'll reconsider your views as the drama unfolds. :)
