I get what you mean. I think we definitely got more of them in the beginning half, then starting around maybe ep 16 or so I was like okay... maybe this is supposed to be more focused on A'Zhou and how she plans to carry out her second chance at life. I do wish we got more of A'Jiu and A'Zhou together but that's just because I love the both of them and I really liked their chemistry haha!

It makes me sad you're dropping it, but if you've already watched till ep15 and it's not your drama that's absolutely okay. You gave it a fair shot. I actually like the way they're doing the romance. It's subtle and I like the looks they give each other. I'm praying this gets a good ending! I can't wait for it to be finished but I know it's going to be bittersweet

I haven't read the novel but I just think about when she first killed that assassin and she was shaken up. He told her to let him do the killing and that was when she decided she had to become stronger mentally. She would kill in war but I think if it has to do with the other 3 guys, she probably wont? Just a couple more eps so I don't know what will happen.

I would say in my opinion, there wasn't really a moment they officially "got together". It was more like you could tell their relationship dynamic changed. Think, no words but actions. In the first half, there is a lot of scenes with the both of them since they work together and he protects her a lot. But there are eps where you see more of the other 3 guys in cahoots and scheming. I personally don't like a strong political focused drama, and I would say this is just the perfect amount for me, and when I get tired of it, I just hit that x2 speed lol.

Another thing I just want to say is, if we get the BTS cut where A'Jiu craddles A'Zhao's body from the first life, that would give so much more to his character in my opinion. It would show just how much she means to him, and frankly just how much he loves her. The pain and angst of holding the one person who saved you, who you love so much that you watched her marry someone else, die at the very own hands of the man she married? Sigh, that just breaks my heart. The BTS was so heartbreaking and his cries hurt my heart. Praying they show it in the series!

This man is SO CUNNING, he absolutely knew. I rolled my eyes when he was like "what if I told you i didn't know?" *ROLLS MY EYES im annoyed lol

Oh my goodness, so far I am loving this series. I finally caught up to the latest ep by staying up till 3AM this morning to watch it lol. I'm paying for it right now at work but it was SO worth it. I know a lot of people don't like the storyline/plot and someone even said it seems like A'Jiu seems to just follow A'Zhao and while I get why people feel that, I also don't mind it. I'm not one to like a WHOLE lot of politic talks in dramas, I kind of steer away from it and sometimes just skip it over but this seems to be working for me. I much prefer a little bit of everything and I find that when there's a lot of lovey-dovey scenes, I get a little bored? LOL. I admit something is wrong with me now that I've gotten older haha! I love how the romance progresses, how she teases him and then he starts to slowly open up and tease her back. AND can we talk about A'Jiu's little SMILES after their interactions?! I mean what in the worlddddddddddd! <3 I was kicking my feet and squealing like crazy when those parts came up. Their love isn't so grand like other ML/FL I've watched and I don't mind it at all. I love their slow burn, I love the gazes they give each other, the moments when the camera pans to their hands linking, the way they speak softly to each other, the way he goes out of his way to protect her with his sword and stop her from drinking things, the way they brush each other's tears away, the hugs, the words they instill in each other and the look in their eyes after being apart which shows us just how much they yearn and miss each other. I like Chen DuLing and I like seeing how she wants to try any character she can to better her acting. This is my first drama of Zhou Yiren and I like his micro expressions so much! In my opinion I find that not a lot of people can show it well (at least to make me feel or have a sense of what they're trying to convey without saying anything). The little head tilts and the way he looks at her, the way his eyes speak for themselves, I find it magical. There is a lot of talk and bickering from the other 3 male antagonists, which during some scenes, it's interesting, while others I just watch it on x2 speed haha. I do appreciate the scene where he talks to his mom, that scene showed me what kind of person he has been trying to be since he was young and the talk about the armor? I cried cause what do you meannnnnnnnnnnnnn?!!?!? And then BAM you get the emotional scene where he promises to wear it *CRIES* This man just wanted to be loved, to be understood and seen, and he found JUST that.

Then can we talk about the KISS SCENE!!?!?!? I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT. It was seriously so sweet. The teasing with the cakes, the way she touches his chest with the armor, the way she tells him to keep their promise and the way this man said I'LL SHOW YOU IF WORDS AREN'T ENOUGH? Help meeeeeee! And I absolutely love how she went in the second time. It felt like she was saying "this kiss from me is my promise to you that I'll be waiting for your return and I love you" and yet it also felt like she was giving her man another kiss cause he was going off to a deadly battle. It was just so beautiful to me.

For tonight's ep, I don't know what to expect cause he left to go find the Northern King meaning they won't get to see each other probably in tonights ep? I don't want this series to end, and although I know this is gonna be my wishful thinking, I pray I get to see them act together again as main leads. I love their chemistry. It's absolutely chemistry-ing for me hehehe. I hope we get a happy ending cause I will be very sad if it doesn't. After all they've been through, I just want them to live together happily ever after.

OMG I just finished ep 14… and all I have to say is if you’re emotional prepare those tissues!!!! I balled my eyes out and just kept crying because there was so many sad moments for my girl. Literally, I’m so happy that A’Jiu and A’Zhao made up! Her uncle is the MVP for telling her the truth cause it was driving me insane with her not knowing the truth. Her dad’s letter to her just broke my heart. I love this drama SM! But honestly I’m a little tired of Xiao Xun and the bickering between our cat and dog lol when it gets to those parts I put it in x2 then put it back to normal speed when it comes to my lovely JiuZhao

Nooooooooo! They need to include and show this scene cause this scene is SO IMPACTFUL! Like why do they always delete scenes that actually show us more of their characters?! 😭😭😭😭 I’m praying they show this in future eps

Omg should I watch this? I had it on my to watch list but never got to it. I just watch all uploaded eps of Ashes to Crown and I am SO intrigued with Zhou Yi Ren and his acting! I’ve never seen any of his work before and I’ve also never seen this FL as well. I’ve seen SOME clips of this series and didn’t want to spoil it for myself completely. It seems it’s not as romantic centered right? Normally I want a bit more like in Ashes of Crown but would probably be able to have an exception if the storyline is good. Any help or advice would be much appreciated as always.

Hi! I’m trying to find a good xanxia to watch. I also love Xu Kai and just want to know if this drama is good enough to watch? I don’t need it to be exceptional cause I don’t find a lot of dramas to be that, but I want to be able to enjoy it and the romance between the leads. Is this a good one to watch?

AoHeng was definitely the person who pushed Hongye to do what he did. It made me so mad I was like how could you do this?!?! I can’t even blame Hongye for what he did 😩😤

As someone who was absolutely devastated and heartbroken from the ending and looking for some clarity in the ending, thank you for this. This has helped mend my heart a bit cause all I saw was black and white… he died, she’s just going back to relive the memories. But also to note, Hongye’s expression at the end is quite different than the first time. He looks as if he’s been waiting for her, a sense of longing and happiness, like she finally came back to him. ❤️ and with that, I feel much better about the ending
