The express episodes specifically can't be cast or mirrored. They are DRM protected.

I think I'm going to try this! I have a usb-c to HDMI adapter I could use! Because the Express episodes all say "DRM protected" if I try to cast them. Thanks for this suggestion, I'd forgotten I used to do that in the olden days before casting, lol.

Whaaaaaat! Hmm...so weird! My TV won't download the tencent app for whatever reason, and my laptop tells me I can't play it on "this device". I'm so jealous. 😭

Okay look. I'm not going to deep dive whatever one article said about the finances of Chinese companies producing dramas. If you want to spend your time doing that, by all means. I don't really care that much whether the companies hurt financially on long form dramas or not, other than will they still get made? At the end of the day, yeah, you have to expect the Chinese government to invest in propaganda. Sure. I'll just take your point at face value. Honestly, my main point is, I'll spend money to support the actors and writers and everyone else making the dramas I enjoy watching.

For anyone interested in my ACTUAL reasons for thinking the big companies aren't doing well, it's because I READ. I read an article about it that explained the decision of two of three to focus on "shorter" dramas due to financial losses on the larger, longer ones, and also that's why they're cutting episodes and no longer allowing more than like...I can't remember, 26? 30? in the longer form dramas being filmed going forward. The ones we're getting now with 40 episodes were all filmed prior to the coming changes. Only one of the big three, and I can't remember which, said they still planned to invest in longer form dramas as they always have.

Are you kidding me? Buh-bye. I'll be blocking you after this ridiculous comment, "Hao". I can support them with my own freaking money if I want and feel it helps. You are free to scroll on by.

I don't do ads. I have ZERO patience for it. And I don't mind paying to support the drama. These companies that also produce them aren't dong as well financially, so they're cutting episode numbers down and I'd still like to see shows like this one getting made and not everything turned into short form c-dramas.

I couldn't wait, I bought the stupid express to watch ep 7 on my tiny phone screen, and now i'm going to have to have extreme willpower to wait each day so I can watch it on a larger one.

Anyway, you know she's making real headway when she starts winning over his generals. 😂 The clapping for her! The support. Love it.

Oh yeah, it had to be her. She already went into the study once without permission, then was explicitly told not to enter again while he very firmly rejected her multiple times. And she could easily have been outside listening when ML and FL got into their argument when he told her not touch his things.

His face when she hit him! He was shocked! Not expecting that reaction after he literally just saved her life, I guess. But girl was having an emotional moment. She had just spent who knows how long dodging his entire army as they searched for her crying "Kill her for morale!" This whole sequence is actually my favorite in the drama so far. IMO, it's when we SEE for the first time that he's falling for her. When she chooses to run to his side and her jerk of an ex and his men start shooting arrows at her, Wei Shao is running to her before he's even consciously made the decision to save her.

Well the joke's on them! I love seeing it do well, I'm a fan of both actors. I hope this leads to a lot more opportunities for both.

THANK YOU! I'm soooooo tired of so many sad or "open ended" dramas lately! Just give me an HEA already, after investing 30-40 hours into a show and its leads. I'm still upset about The Demon Hunter's Romance AND The Story of Pearl Girl, so it would be nice to see both leads with a happy ending here.

I think both leads are stunning. And they have amazing chemistry. But yes, you can see how and why her beauty captivates him even though he tries to resist it. I had to laugh in the scene when he asks her with contempt "Do you think you're so stunning I would be captivated by it?" or something like that - after he was OBVIOUSLY totally stunned the first time he actually saw her clearly. It took him a second to remember he hates her and her family, lol.

Yes! I'm so glad this is finally airing so we can see it. Both actors clearly put their all into it.

Right?? Same! And it was in the trailer, but you get all of the emotion and context underpinning it in the episode.

WOW, this might end up being my favorite drama of the year so far if it can continue with the kind of quality and storytelling in these first episodes. I really like both actors from other dramas, and the chemistry here is 🔥! The way they are both very strategic and smart, but he's more aggressive and she's more manipulative. I love everything about it. The scene where she "chooses" to run to him instead of her deadbeat ex-fiance was soooo well done. And he runs out to save her even though at that point he was still absolutely against marrying her. He has no idea he's already caught, ha ha.

This is what I'm hoping for! Largely because I'm only here for those two actors. I adore Lee Seung Hyub and hope he gets a ML role someday, and same for my girl Seo Hye Won, queen of SFL roles.

Thank you! I do pay for VIP on all of them, lol. But I haven't noticed any vertical dramas on them? Just the regular long form and short form c-dramas, but not the micro drama verticals.
