Honestly, I think she might be angry and sad, but wouldn't betray Ping'an. She probably shot PA where it wouldn't…
I 100% believe this is what's happening as well! They've made a big point of how hard it is to infiltrate and get close to Hai Ping, and then to specifically choose the bridge in Mang Gutter....it's all so YS will save her.
I mean, she LIKES him, but as a friend. and yeah, he's the annoying guy friend who can't accept it. And him thinking…
I agree, actually. At first I liked him, but they want him obsessed with the FL so they've written him to basically make very selfish choices, which makes him a less likable character.
I won't take Youku's tagline seriously. I have seen so many youku clips on youtube with fake headlines making…
Tonight's episodes pretty well confirm that we are in fact going to see some romance between the leads. I mean, if they DON'T go down that road I will be shocked at this point.
Everyone saying there's no romance, whether it is a complaint or a "how refreshing"...I have news, there is GOING…
After watching tonight's episodes: what did I say?? We got a whole scene with her helping him face his past and him realizing what he needs in life is warmth (love). And then he tries to reciprocate but she's not ready yet.
And he called her his soulmate! And she didn't dispute it.
very well analysed..people who are saying NO romance (me included) is reply to people who are looking for Romance…
Thanks! Yeah, I just think this drama doesn't fit the "romance" c-drama audience expectations. And it shouldn't since it's not really a romance, it's a revenge thriller with a romance B-plot. But it's so well done. The characters are so well written and acted. It's gripping. I love it. I love a good romance, but I love a good story with great characters the most, and this is that. It's (so far....we'll see by the end) my favorite c-drama this year.
I feel like the actors must really love these roles because they were given so much to work with.
Everyone saying there's no romance, whether it is a complaint or a "how refreshing"...I have news, there is GOING TO BE romance. It's already happening. They've flirted in their own unique way since the first few episodes. They've now admitted they are each other's closest person. They've danced around admitting what that means without admitting what that means. It's a slow burn, it's subtle, but it is absolutely, 100% happening.
It's just not the focus of the drama. And it's done in a very realistic way. These are two VERY broken people. They don't love themselves. You know that old saying, it's impossible to love someone until you love yourself? They have to grow and be willing to allow that kind of emotion into their lives first. Both of them have experienced love with their families/chosen families. Both have survivor bonds with people in their lives. Both have friends. But a partner? Someone they rely on above everyone else, who they would sacrifice themselves -- or their carefully plotted revenge plans -- for? Hmm.
Anyway, Youku's tagline for this drama says "intense romance". We are entering the second half of this drama. I would start expecting that slow burn to heat up. I do think the romance is going to play a role in complicating the main plot, and will not itself BECOME the main plot, but it will be very present, I think. And the idea of an HEA seems....very unlikely at this point, given the dark tone of the drama and the way it has gone out its way to show us it's perfectly willing to kill people off. But I'm still hoping for one. Gosh, let some of these broken people achieve happiness in the end.
ah ok so shaocheng and an kang are besties it took me a while to get it 🤣
BFFs who love to give each other s***. LMAO, truly a "guy" friendship. It's also how my husband expresses love with his BFFs he's known since childhood.
I’m just gunna say it, SY will go down as one of the most annoying SML🙄 my guy please stop. MQG didn’t…
I mean, she LIKES him, but as a friend. and yeah, he's the annoying guy friend who can't accept it. And him thinking stuff like "I can't let her stay by his side that long" about her and the ML just shows us how selfish and deluded he is. He honestly thinks "I can steal her this time around" and that that kind of thinking is okay. It's gross in RL and it's gross in fictional characters. He's the "nice guy" that all women know isn't really nice.
FINALLY, that rating coming up! This show deserves to be higher.
Wow, I loved tonight's ep. I love that the ML's brother didn't go down without an epic fight scene. His story was that he was a soldier who survived some of the grimmest battles, and they showed that by having him defeat four of the Li's elite shadow guards as they slowly whittled him down.
And let me just say, I knew the ML wasn't as sunken into his grief as they made it seem. No way a character as driven, cunning, and intelligent as him becomes to rash and emotional, even grief stricken. But the show really GOT ME with that reveal at the end that Hesheng was still alive. I was SO HAPPY to see him. I should have known. I should have picked up on it at the time, but I didn't. Well played, show. Well played.
LOL, 100% true! That's why I'm hoping for a happy ending. I think we may even see them join forces with our leads in the future. We all know who the real villains are, and here's hoping they all get what's coming to them. It will be very satisfying.
With a 30 episodes drama it's a perfect landmark at 15 for the Heroes to be defeated and beaten at their game.…
OMG, Doom at Your Service is one of my favorite k-dramas of all time. That show...I was convinced it was going to have a sad ending right up until the end, but I couldn't stop watching (I usually prefer an HEA. I'm good with lots of drama and trauma leading up to it, but want the payoff of a happy ending, lol).
I am also not a fan of Horror. Nope. I can do almost anything else.
Okay, I am 100% here for the WJ and Elder Tu hook up. I know they are the bad guys but I'm still hoping for him to get his head out of his you know what and realize she's been in love with him since they were kids. (Also, can I just say the actress they got to play young Elder Tu is freaking GORGEOUS??? I see future female lead on this girl.) And I'd love for them to get a happy ending, or what passes for one with the bad guys, I guess.

RIGHT??? I'm totally with you. It' s also making me a longer writer, lol. My current WIP is sitting at 120k words and I think it'll be 160k before it's done. What genre(s) do you write? I'm a little bit of everything but there's always a romance or romance subplot. I've always been a fantasy lover, so my current WIPS are variations of UF (Korean based, actually) or fantasy romance. (But NOT, unfortunately for me, the very popular romantasy version that follows the A Court of Thorns and Roses paradigm. It follows, well....more of a historical c-drama paradigm, lol.)

Honestly, discovering and watching asian dramas has helped level me up as an author. I've been writing for a long time, and even though I felt like I had a good grasp on things like structure and story craft and beats, I can tell in the stuff I've written in the past year that it's definitely a level above what I was writing before.
IKR?? I knew when the show started and we had SO MANY really good side characters, with the type of show it is…
I usually watch them right when they air, but last night I opted to wait until this morning because I just wasn't ready for the trauma.
I will say, I'm looking forward to our characters bonding closer as they regroup and recover, but I'm so sad this happened! I kept hoping it wouldn't even as it unfolded. :(
