Last time I heard of her was because of the dating rumor with Koizumi. And then I saw the news. Of course, I would not have expected that, I thought she might be happy if she had found love. Yet, life is more complicated than what it looks, especially from afar.
It's sad, there is nothing more I can say. I barely know her, and didn't watch much of her works, except for some early dramas. Last time I remember watching her was indeed in the "Good wife".
That being said, this kind of tragic events recall us that actors/actresses are human beings above all, with their own problems and feelings, and we can't imagine what they're going through when just watching them on our screens. They deserve our respect for their hard work and what they give us, and for that, I find it nice of you to have taken the time to write about her and what she is leaving behind her, even if it just gives us a glimpse at the woman she was. Thanks a lot.

Thanks a lot for this article. I added way too many dramas to my PTW list.

I personnaly don't really care which day dramas are scheduled (considering we need to wait several days to have subs if not for months...). I liked it with drama posters better maybe, because it was easier for me to remember the drama than the japanese title. But that may be just me.

episode 1 is divided into two parts for RAW from m*g*cstar. So maybe the web you're watching takes the raw from…
Thanks for your explanation. I think the sites I'm using have absolutely no idea there are 2 parts for the first episode and have only uploaded the first part. Will see if I'm able to watch it somewhere else. Thank you for your answer.

That's reassuring, because after the first episode I'm not feeling it that engaging. Of course acting is on top,…
Thanks for your answer. I'll wait and see if I like it better in the next episodes then...

Well... either I'm a total dumb woman (which is not excluded) either there is something with the episodes release on the websites I'm using (the kind of webtsites you can't mention on here). When playing episode 2, I'm feeling like I missed at least an entire episode.
Did I miss something?

It gets better each episode. I love how the president daughter is not the same cliche character you would see…
That's reassuring, because after the first episode I'm not feeling it that engaging. Of course acting is on top, but it seems too perfect for me (not sure what I'm saying is making sense, but well). Will try the second episode to see if I can like it better.

This is extended to 22 episodes and The Roommate is dropped to 4? Why? There is no story, as far as I can tell,…
This IS an ad. So I don't think the economical aspects fo those two shows can be compared (have not watched the Roommate so don't know about it). Here, as long as the company would pay, I think it's okay for them to do the series.

"à" shouldn't have an accent. It's the verb "avoir", so it should be "a donné".
I've done the correction so that you can validate.

There is a small mistake, I think it should be "sélectionnez" instead of "sectionnez".
I've made the correction and submitted it again, you can probably validate it now.

Thanks for the updates!
I can't wait for Asadake! It looks so promising. I can feel Nino and his co-stars will make me cry.
Though I was not interested in Miura's new drama at first, I will probably watch it in memory. Wondering how they will handle his departure though...

Thanks for the recommendations.
This is an interesting topic I particularly enjoy watching in Japanese dramas. Still need to watch Tonbi... nice to have included Tokio, it is a touching story but barely remembered nowadays.
On the recent ones in Japan, you could add Gibo to Musume no blues, Kazoku no katachi (somehow) or the dark yet pretty good Saka no Tochu no ie (somehow too)...
But yeah... Mother!

Can you explain what it refers to? I know where to find it, but do the Verified and Stars words refer to verified accounts and Star members? The way I understand this text is : this is the average rating when we take into account the verified accounts + the star members only. Is it correct?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks a lot for this article, which brings us a clear and well exposed explanation of the differences between Thai shows.
I've only watched Thai series so far (read Thai BL) but some lakorns are on my PTW list for long now. I can't bring myself to start them mostly because of the duration. Not that a 1h20-1h50 per episode makes me reluctant per say (in my country, I grew up with evening shows of that duration, so I'm used to it), but I don't have enough time after work for them. And the fact they seem so difficult to find doesn't help.
I thouroughly enjoy Thai series, for the reason you mentioned : "Most of them are light, fluffy and cute". I need light things in my life for now. That doesn't mean I don't see their flaws, but they have become my guilty pleasure. I don't mind the popcorn aspect of the series so that would never be an argument to not start a drama.
That being said, I hope to be able to start a lakorn soon.
Once again, thank you !

My favorite j-drama is Kimi Wa Petto, (the 2017 version with my fave Shison Jun), and I will watch just about…
There is no such a website because Japan has no interest in international market, their home market is very strong and apparently enough for them. They are already selling manga and anime abroad, but yeah, this is a shame they don't want to sell their dramas. I, too, would gladly pay for such a website.

I definitely wish more people would try jdramas. I watch both jdramas and kdramas, but jdramas are definitely…
It WAS hard to choose. On my 10s rated dramas list only, there are so many I wanted to talk about : Mother (always outshined by the korean version), Princess Maison, Ashita no Kita Yoshio... I'm really happy that Old_Anime_Lady talked about Kazoku Game, it's such a powerful drama.
I went with two different genres. Nobuta is a classic among school dramas of that era, and it has a very special place in my heart, so I could not not promote it. Quartet is very different, with its slice of life vibe but it is so peculiar at the same time. The atmosphere of this drama is marvellous. It had to be mentioned.

Thank you for shaping this article. It's nice to read other watcher's point of view, as we don't seek for the same things when watching J-dramas.
Hope it will give people who don't watch Jdramas the will to try some of them.
And thanks for the credits ;)

I've spent the whole day thinking about his death and wondering why such a young, successful and apparently fine man would reach to this conclusion. His death shocked me, more than I would have expected.
I've discovered him in Bloody Monday, and have watched some of his shows. Even if he was not a favorite, I've always enjoyed watching him in dramas and movies, and would eventually start a drama on his name only (Boku no ita Jikan, Watashi wo Hanasenaide). I fully enjoyed his presence in everything he was in, and I liked to see his charming smile on TV shows.
I have no idea why he chose this path, I didn't follow him on social medias and know almost nothing about him, but to me he was an appreciated and necessary face I was gladly "meeting" from time to time on my screen, ever since I began watching Japanese dramas in 2010. This is truly sad. Condolences to his family and friends.

Thanks for this article and recommendations!
I've started to watch Thai BL two years ago but I've never been able to bring myself to watch lakorns. Maybe because I don't know where to start. Hopefuly this article will help me to choose the first one. I'm a bit reluctant because revenge dramas don't seem to interest me, and synopsis on MDL don't always make them look appealing. But I've learnt throughout the years that what could seem "uninteresting" (to me) zt first can actually be pretty entertaining and addicting.
Unlike many it seems, I liked the Thai language from the start and I'm loving to listening to their songs. Oh, and as an European where the weather is cold half of the year, I love to see people evolving in a bright atmosphere, you can feel the heat on screen (actors' sweat, light clothes, vegetation...): I'm also enjoying their shows because of that minor reason!
