Oops, meant to say “well-paced” plot.

It’s great fun! While not a high budget production, the story/plot and characters make sense, and it’s just really entertaining throughout

Got to hand it to this drama, it's kept me anticipating each episode up until the end. On to the grand finale! I really hope it ends in a satisfying way. While the empress is deluuuuuuusional, it's nice to see a villain gain the upper hand up until the end.

Wow this empress is delusional. Everything terrible is of her own making and she has the nerve to think she was just looking out for her son? I hope she gets what she deserves, but the previews for the next episodes are 😱

It's stressing me out that I can't watch the last 6 episodes yet. How will this end????

I love a complex written character like our ML. The FL right now is very idealistic, not surprising given her noble upbringing and lack of experience in the real world. Hopefully we get to see her develop as a character, would love to see different sides of her and I think SSK is more than capable of bringing more layers in her performance.

Yep, this is exactly my cup of tea. Intense court intrigue, complex ML and characters (I'm hoping for an interesting revenge story arc for the FL, so far she hasn't had as much to do yet), and a lush production. Can't wait for the next phase of the story

Had to block for my sanity.

Knew the angst was coming! But can’t wait to see what the last 8 episodes have in store. I knew that empress was too “nice” to be true.

Well, guess I'll never get to see it then lol. Too bad, I've always liked Toby Lee and Chen Du Ling, but I was iffy on why they had to make a film when there's already a drama.

I know! On the one hand she was trying to leave, but then why did she want to start massaging him lol 😆

Glad the humor and comedic moments haven’t stopped, that bath scene was so fun!

The last one I liked was Under the Queen’s Umbrella, but yeah like you said I haven’t enjoyed a good one for a while

Finally a proper sageuk, hopefully the story stays compelling throughout. The production and acting seems on point so far

Yeah, who knows how long it will take for the international audience to see it.

Just past the halfway point, and this drama has continued to be a pleasant surprise for me - let's hope the rest of the drama keeps it up

It’s a film, so it’s playing in theaters only (in China) I believe for now.

Yeah I believe it’s only on youku legally

16 episodes so far

Love how the drama showcases Song Yiren’s comedic chops. Her pretending to be blind was LOL
