Because her family were in alliance with the crown prince who tried to overthrow the monarchy, the FL’s family were accused of treason. So families were “removed”, betrothed agreement void. So no he did not abandoned her! Agreement is null!

This one I have to be in the mood for it because it’s a huge family affair. This one is a lot to take in. Again Asian family shenanigans and it’s 40 episodes. Sun and Chen are not the main leads.
