I guess people forgot about the essence of this story. It is Xiao Yao’s story, from HER POV. She has always repeatedly said she wants a carefree life (carpe diem). She is a very lonely person. She craves companionship. She adopts strays, outcast and downtrodden. She likes the feeling of family, eating together, laughing. She even provoked a snake demon so that it can talk to her.
