Right before the ceremony, the word on the street is he is playing Yuan Qingshi, a villain, elder brother of King Wei. Many are expecting him to play a villain. 😄
Maybe these early rumors are just fucking with the casual fans. This new publicity team even released bad info treating Wang Hedi like a nobody in their ceremony day, just casually dealing with the fans.

In my opinion, DD and Wu are not particularly good friends, but ordinary colleagues in the same agency. Over the years there is very little interaction/proof they have a close friendship outside of work. Their brotherhood hs was very obvious bought by his agency. 😄🤮If you are asking about the protest, DD fans are dissatisfied w/ the forced addition of Wu (in an important role), they are wary Mengyang will force script change to boost Wu’s screen time. They also see him as an easy target for haters or will cause problems for Dylan since DD is heavily blacked. Book fans also think he’s unfit to play Ziye (rumored).
But there’s no need to say much because it is within normal operation for DD’s agency to pack in their artists to Dylan’s dramas. Dylan is the resource to the artists at his small agency (and in the past, he’s also brought in artist friends not from the same agency).

Earlier this yr, Wu is said to be rubbing off of Dylan again (he was spotted at DD’s NBA game + Yadea ad shoot in SF, but very little interaction between them were shown). Last yr Wu was on an unpopular variety show and his company arranged Dylan as a fly-in guest to boost viewership. Some said, without Wang Hedi's agreement to sign 2 episodes, Wu couldn’t stay on the show. His fans say his job was obtained at the cost of WHD's health (just got off a 16-hour flight, jet lagged, and then had to run in the cold in the middle of the night). DD fans knew he doesn’t need to promote himself on this variety show and was doing someone a favor (supporting the artists of the same company). DD looked so exhausted and his fans felt sorry for him.
On the show, Wu doesn't talk much (maybe he knows that he has low EQ and the staff asked him to talk less), but he was criticized for doing a lot of tricks in the show, and cheated the staff several times. Wang Hedi didn't pay attention to him.
From what I recall DD was blackened on this show, permanent guest fans (were known bullies) and fake fans of the show spread false information against Dylan and his agency announced a lawsuit. ‘Some’ of DD fans also believed Wu caused some of the black draft because of his comment involved Dylan in the show and they always refer to Wu as someone with poor character (backstabber). I think in the past he was accused of being competitive w/ DD on another show. Some even went far to say Wu bought the black draft himself, but I think it’s unlikely since he lacks resources. 😄

Do we even know when or if the official announcement will happen?😄 I’m sure the leading position of Wang Hedi has always been stable, but it was a disappointing promotion strategy and a bad ‘first impression’ of the crew. I got a headache from the ambiguous rankings + supporting casts with same title as the ML. Huh? 👀 After all the behind-the-scene planning, they let out this bad info on the drama backdrop at the boot ceremony and placed a gag order on DD’s fans. 🤐🤫 They condoned the supporting casts trending on hot search, except for DD. 🙄The bad info got recorded on various sites. Possibly someone doesn’t want to be suppressed by DD to play a supporting role #3/4. They find a ‘senior’ supporting actor to attract wider audience and given a special title. That hot search male and female duo to mislead the audience should be bought by the drama team. 😄 The crew only corrected the title of the supporting casts in (Baidu encyclopedia), but LQ is still rank FL (for doing ‘cameo’ work according to her fans). DD fans are basically asking to respect to the rest of the cast.

WD had the same ‘special guest’ title in Per Aspera ad Astra movie, but his name was not rank above the main cast. I’ve only seen him did ‘guesting’ for GJM’s FoF and he was not rank above the main cast either. I think he is still under GJM.

What’s interesting also, while DD ended up with no solo hot search on boot ceremony day, his useless agency bought hs to brag about DD and Wu brotherhood. 🤦‍♀️ 😅

Yep seeing RJS and DD twinning in the leaks, I can see their chemistry. I think I might jump ship now. 😄

Most are saying it’s just a cameo\supporting and many are confused. I saw international accounts even spreading they are equal billing. 😄 I’ve explained her role to some people in the comment section and elsewhere. Again, this crew is tricky and IMO they are still stepping on the ML. They only corrected the other actors title recently. I’m not going on get into it cuz I was already called a toxic fan for bringing up the topic. 🤧Hahaha

They most likely approved those shots to be taken and released , the fans’ shots are particularly clear and close. Some were secretly shot by papz. They need to have leaks to attract attention because this is a mini IP with few book fans.
Not so worried about the styling, I think most are concerned about the scriptwriter and adding FL. 🤧

It must be approved by the crew. They have an approved list of who can post materials but there were some secretly taken by Papz. For outdoor scenes they certainly cannot prevent them sneaking shots. They must post some leaks to attract attention, because there are too few book fans. They rely on Didi to carry this drama.

Yea most likely they are taking the low-key route. They can’t conceal everything when they shoot outdoor scenes. It’s raining today and Didi is shooting outdoor, said to be near a cliff. 🥺 Everyone is waiting for the leaks.

I saw Guo Yun Qi at the ceremony. He is good with comedy. No one seems to know which role he will play, maybe Ziye ... 😄

They haven’t specified when the official announcement will be made. It’s speculated May 15 Mango Investment conference. However I have also heard this producer not making official announcement until end of filming in the past.

I’ve been speaking highly of this production team on here and on other websites, but the growing list of concerns are making me second guessing if it’s really just clumsiness or inexperience. 😄 Anyway, I hope they are upright and won’t cause DD and fans a lot of headaches.

Nah, the smear campaign really stems from the time he was rumored ML for GOTD (leak came from the director himself). It’s said a group spent 200 million rmb to blacken him. This is not his typical haters or fans from other artists. Some people can’t stand their artists did not get this role especially to someone like DD with no background or capital. DD’s projects are very tight lip nowadays. Despite the smear campaign and no marketing, GOTD is a massive hit.

To clarify, Dylan’s diss tracks have nothing to do w/ DYX. His songs were written in 2023 and already started recording in early 2024. The business CP between DYX & EY only popular from Nov 2024 (yes they have a script for CP frying). He has talked about it in interviews, the ‘attitude’ that has accompanied him since he entered c-ent (includes YSX toxic fans), but especially the haters that blamed him for Miss The Dragon and he was massacred by the entire C-net. He was too good-hearted to pass the drama's mess (covid times) to anybody else, so he took on all the blame and apologized.

This drama has one sole lead, Dylan, as Dylan’s name is first. So there is no FL. MDL will update when the official announcement is made.

She is listed as special guest (invited) lead. Basically she has a supporting role. If based on the book, all other main supporting characters are equal, because there is no CP.
